Lovely misty fields in and around Kent, let's hope Surrey can conjure up the same.

Aw, you guys...that was fab. Properly fab.
I especially liked getting up Whitedown without crying, swearing or walking, and opening the champagne on the train.
See y'all next time.

Ludwig - last seen heading north on the southbound one way in Holborn. Hope you got home okay...
Visual highlights - the silloette of fasteddy flying down a mist filled tunnel of trees somewhere after leith hill.

Nice to be back. Enjoyed the relaxed meanderings. Glad that everybody got back on the orient moyhetfucking.

Laner - you owe me a light!
(didn't ride home - chasing bmmf's red light was too much to resist, and then there was a train. kismet, innit) -

Thank you very much for your concern. I was impressed by your bus drafting across Waterloo Bridge!

thanks to everyone for making it such a fun night. special mention to jenny j for the loan of her spare back light and jaygee and tiles for the beers and champagne (we toasted you wools!) on the train. and of course to everyone who was involved in the organising, leading and backstopping.
brilliant start to the TNRC season.

Firstly, thanks all for the kinds words and messages.
Sorry I shot off after Whitedown, my son was throwing up all and sundry at home so I had to hot foot it back. Been cleaning up sick since I got in 50 minutes ago, looks like i'm sleeping on the sofa tonight.
Almost decided to head for home during the puncture stop, kinda glad I didn't as I really enjoyed Leith and Whitedown.
Will & Dave, thanks for the fast return to the station. Will, I'll let you claim that sprint....

I H8 Whitedown.

Also, I just found out Nutella and Marmite is not like Peanut Butter and Marmite .
-
• #621
Solid climbs behind some fast folk, smooth stretches at a pace that didn't make me ill, and an extremely accommodating atmosphere. Ta.
I fucking love Dorset Cereals.

• #622
thanks for the TNRC love!
it was 531 -or carbon? -
• #623
PS Nice to see friendly faces, both old and new. I'm sure people where out there that I didn't even see.
-
• #624
Everybody who did the ride on fixed, this is very very brave! Surely this must be the hardest TNRC route to do so. I hope you got all the champagne.
-
• #625
Well personally I'd be lying if I said Whitedown was easy - I stopped three times, the third of which was followed by a short push. I'm glad I did it fixed but next time I'd probably bring the road bike on that route! Still. Not a bad way to whet my TNRC whistle.
Good times on the train home with the champers and beers, thanks Tim and whoever else bought it.
so, what is the deal with ride 2?
