Even with my suspect navigation it's less than 10 miles back to where I live, it would be rude not to ride home. Surprised Fussball didn't join us, has that 250 mile run finally taken it's toll or did you put in another couple of laps before riding home?

I thought ashleyisdabest rode home as well, although he may have gone on his own? Quite impressed that he did the DD, then rode out to potters bar and back in again after the ride.

really want in... what is the earliest we could be back to london? - gonna try and work on the wednesday
You'd have to be on the first train from Portsmouth at 4:30am (fuck!) if you want to beat the bike ban (none on trains arriving in London between 7am-10pm). As far as I can see no ferry from Isle of Wight to the mainland will arrive in time for that train.
So earliest arrival in Londons famous London will be 10:13am!
Looking forward to this. Haven't been on a TNRC for about 3 months!

Has anyone ever done a deluxe and worked the next day?
I intended to on my one and only deluxe. Come the morning after the ride there was zero chance of me going in. I would rather have resigned than face anything but a bed after that ride.
Isle of wight looks good, I like ferries. But next week's impossible. Very frustrating. Have to go to the Ice Bar with clients instead :-(

Went to the office after the Bath ride last year. Caught some Zzzz's on the train and all was fine. Slept like a log baby that night. However, i've taken the following day off for all the overnighters this year as I feel like i'm missing out, what with work consistantly pissing on my chips everytime a sign up for a TNRC.

I have worked after every deluxe. Bath I started at 14.00h, Surrey/Kent I had a coffee first and started at 11.00h.
6pt told me when we spoke on Monday that old people don't need as much sleep. And as Tim said we are getting old, that is the advantage then!

ok. Latest deluxe news. Des kindly did some research on trains for the IOW and total cost of return ticket and ferry with GS4 is £39. So with this in mind we have decided to get some feedback on how many people are interested in paying that. Meanwhile the deluxe ride for the 26th of July will be Bath. If there is interest in the IOW then we will do it late August.

ICBA to UTFS
Can someone post up the Bath route please? Mildly disappointed that we're not taking on the Isle next week, but completely understand. FWIW I would pay £39 to spend the night with you, Tim.
I hope there has been research into a decent joint for brekkie at Bath...

Being new to TNRC, could someone explain the 'Deluxe' ride further? I'm presuming It's an all-nighter event?

Should be the terrace again. Especially in weather like this.

@ BD - yep,
@ Ludwig - that was a disappointing breakfast. A full English should be a greasy spoon affair. Never again the middle class hotel. It's like going to see phantom of the opera for a fix of classical music
@ Smiff- I'm confused but i think we'll plan to arrive at 7-8am. we got in a bit too late last time, caught in some morning rush hour traffic and the spa was busy too. Certainly no earlier though -

TNRC Deluxe Dates for your Diary
Tuesday 26 July
Tuesday 9 August
Tuesday 23 August
One more to be confirmed towards the end of the season
You should note that these dates do not clash with the usual fortnightly schedule.
Details of routes will be posted real soon so you can decide if they are worth taking the next day off work for. Though they are, they definitely are.
.
Very nice evening out in the lanes - leisurely pace much appreciated, although that route is much more rolling than I remembered. Bad luck with the tyre problems bmmf, but I wasn't too upset by missing out the hills on the return to the station. Great to see some new faces out there.
