TNRC is not a club
Ah, I'd always suspected the C stood for something else.

The roads are fine. Went up/down them earlier today.

^^ give me some feedback on that protocol guys.
Great introduction there.
Would suggest putting an average km/h figure against rides as people generally know their limits in those terms. I know it's on most of the mapping but just make it completely transparent ie. '2.5 hours of ø18 km/h'
Also you haven't stated a recommended manufacturers lumen count on front lights (what is it anyway 250-300+?)

magnet - how did it work?
In the world of cruelties I live, the magnet worked fine for about 2 miles then the battery died in my Computer.
Thanks though. Much appreciated.

Some of those lanes were oozing primordial soup on saturday. Admittedly, we did a slightly different route.
Also can I just be pedant and suggest, once again, that Whitedown is an armless floppy child compared to Barhatch Lane.
Saturday, on Barhatch, I was not winning.

We used to say ~180 lumens if you're on the front much, ~100 lumens if you're midpack. To much light in the middle of the bunch causes weird shadows for the riders in front.
A little more light can be helpful for solo riding, or groups of 2-6, but it all gets to be overkill when there are hordes of us.

Pretty comprehensive piece there Tim - good work, covers most things.
Maybe something about checking tyres for embedded crap before the ride and if the lists are going to fill up this quickly, only putting your name down when you are sure you can make it and freeing up a place for the waiting list asap if you can't. Obvious stuff I know. Not sure that av mph is needed - varies route to route and there's usually something in the ride header. Lights? - bmmf's lumen count seems a good pointer and unless someone wants to put together a definitive list there's plenty of info on the threads if you go looking.

I was hoping to make the first one this year but just got back from a weeks hols and the list is rammed. Do we need a tnrc 1.2 or maybe even, shock horror, a wnrc...
-
• #291
To be frank, people can organise a night ride with a group of companions whenever the fuck they want. Anyone who feels particularly opinionated about how things should be done would be an obvious candidate to take the initiative, and start a new thread.
There's nothing unique about the TNRC*.

Shine them behind me, and I will slow down, come alongside you, rip offending items from your bars/helmet, and throw them into the abyss.

totally off topic. just heard on the radio. The guy who designed the storm trooper helmet for star wars has been taken to court twice by Lucas because the designer is selling them. The designer won both times and stated that 'they are not helmets, they are sculptures. They would not protect you in the event of an inter-gallactic exchange of fire'. Quality, and my apologies for veering.

Intergalactic exchange of fire sounds like Brian Cox might saysomething like this.
Tuesday Night Regiment Club :)
No, it's good to have backstops and all the works.
