Hah, beer. It went down well. Thanks for that jaygee.
Enjoyed it so much that I stopped by for another two pints and some extra carnage at the Roebuck. A good evening...

hhhmmmm a deluxe rethink. Going to have to scratch the badly planned deluxe for next week due to some work commitments ( budgeting for redundancies) which means they will all be packed into july/august and mid october. so far deluxe ride ideas are:
Bath (spa)
Isle of Wight (Randonee route)
Bournemouth (swim in the sea)
Abergevenny (sleep with Tim's parents) **that was discussed on the train back from Chingford in a light hearted manner

Been playing with [Strava]('http://www.strava.com/') recently... Last nights spin [here]('http://www.strava.com/rides/tnrc-kent-ii-617990?units=feet')
I'd been thinking of developing something like this for a while, local record holding is a brilliant idea. Who doesn't wana be king of their local mountain/hill/bump?
Will be importing... then realising i need to ride more miles!

Would the IoW involve getting the last ferry/whatever across the water, then returning after breakfast? That sort of thing?
If anyone's interested, I could also probably stitch together a north routes de luxe…

I'm really keen on an evening ride next week. Haven't done TNRC before (jealous lurker), so probably couldn't hack a deluxe, but have bike (geared), lights (are the Electron 16-LED TNRC-approved?) and enough mechanical nous to get home for if it goes bad. I won't set the world alight speed-wise, but not a numpty either.

The usual Chingford-Roydon-Potters Bar loop would be very welcome. I dreamed the canal path under the North Circular was not boarded up and we could ride in for 07.30h breakfast in town.

Next standard should be 7 June, keep lurking for more details.

Thanks Ramaye. Unfortunately I'll be away then. Maybe I'll try the last minute rides thread for some company.

IoW was discussed on the way home Tuesday, I really like the idea of doing it iff (the geeky if) it's a full moon so we can appreciate some of the coastal views.
also discussed: is it worth combining TNRC's again... runs away

IoW would be a corker, especially as I missed the randonee this year. 31st would have been a no no so I'm happy. 14th June is on the full moon if that's not too soon.

The Rolla's have a club social on 14 June so should be busy drinking in an overpriced pub.
(Rolla's see the club forum for details).
Not that this should stop the rest of you having fun with ferries. -

This clearly says that if we like an early deluxe we have to ask bmmf nicely, yes? So a bit more enthusiasm would be appreciated.

What's the best way to transport a small, newborn, child on a bike? On a TNRC?

We would but they will probably go above your head.
i was genuinely excited about getting out there on the 'killing you soft lea or lee' ride and i was not let down. from skipping off the main drag to epping thru the forest, the smooth black top from nazeing to rounding the zoo, followed by the endless smooth downhill, the canal, the rough, the smooth, finishing on that last off road blast after the leg sapping climb, the whole thing was marvellous.
a truly fantastic addition to the roster. nice work scarlett.
and cheers for leading in the black swan style. great work and comms from sean backstopping. also, special mention to jaygee for always secreting a bag of tinnies somewhere.
what a smooth blast. cheers all, look forward to doing that one again
