  • Stop in secluded forest section as night quickly begins to fall. A commotion is heard nearby. Jaygee, South African wildlife expert, freezes as he's taking a piss.

    JAYGEE: That's a lion.

OTHERS IN THE GROUP: Ha! What are you talking about?

JAYGEE: (frightened now) No, that's definitely a fucking lion.

    Hehe :D

  • y u no give me sufficient privileges to view?

    fixed: [ame]http://connect.garmin.com/activity/87876175[/ame]

  • Thank you all for the admiring comments on my jersey. You do realise they are available here. Strictly limited editions. Order now to avoid disappointment.

  • Great ride btw. It was good to be out on my fixed wheel bicycle. Never fear though. Normal service will resume shortly. Great company, great weather and varied road surfaces.

  • An ace night's riding - fine company and a great route, not that anyone of us other than Martin had the faintest where we were going. Perhaps it works best that way. Was chuffed to have got round on fixed, although the Exedown bonus climb had me grovelling to hold 8th place in the group.

Swung by Buck Pal on the way back, but Barack's gig didn't look up to much so settled for stella and a sandwich in Chiswick.

  • Some smooth riding all round last night.

Was great to observe from behind.

  • Stella and a sandwich in Chiswick sounds much better than that glorified Travelodge that is Buckingham Palace.

  • Some smooth riding all round last night.

Was great to observe from behind.

  • Interesting....

  • BMMF - I knew that would tickle you.

There were moments where I was able to give myself 5 or 6 bike lengths and sit up no handed. Due to my height, my saddle height, the smooth surface, my low-ish tyre pressure and 28's, I felt like I was floating above the group, like the guardian back stop angel.

  • It all went very well. I'm happy.

  • Shocking pics but hey it is at night waiting for the train home...

if I just press this button,

Then it turns on my TNRC mode,

  • Apologies for bedwetting and not even announcing. Fatherhood + stag do + over 120 livid midge bites = wet bed.

    Sounds amazing. Congratulations BMMF.

    Jealous of the lion.

  • Lots of fun last night, great group riding as always. Thanks to everyone... Lots of variation on that route: flat, rolling, dusty tow paths and a little stinger at the end...

  • Need a black and white cap to sort out my colour co-ordination.

  • whats the new steed damo?

  • Nelson Pista. Resprayed black.
    Is nice. I like.
I don't like getting punctures on it though.

  • This was a good one! Started with Seven Sisters Road for bikes only in the rush hour due to massive water mains explosion and finding the canal path North Circular underpass boarded up on the ride out.

Thanks for holding that gate open Will, and for that to me new first leg of the ride home.

B194 like Nurburgring with oncoming traffic before finding the quite lanes. White Stubbs Lane was a blast.

Super atmosphere along the canal and what a view from that bridge we had to walk!

Thank you Scarlett and Sean for the route, and everybody for company. And thank you Matt for the parting of the winds on the ride home!

  • ...can't take any credit for the route. That's all Scarlet(t)'s work.

  • Moby?

  • Been playing with [Strava]('http://www.strava.com/') recently, you don't need a Garmin, it also collects gps data from an app either iphone or android. Its good to see other peeps times on the same segment of road, keeps track of component usage, if like me you keep forgetting how long your chains/casettes,tyres last etc

    Last nights spin [here]('http://www.strava.com/rides/tnrc-kent-ii-617990?units=feet')

  • I couldn't help but notice some confusion about how many people were on the Otford ride.

A great crew of 6 rolled out from Otford tonight [...]

Sam it was a shame you could not make it in the end but Kent done us proud tonight.
Damo and Des keeping the fixed flame alive with style and panache.
Friday backstopping with (Damo and Des) and dancing up a couple of the hills as he could not resist,
Benjam was blasting through the lanes and flying up the inclines,
Jenny was getting to the top of the hills and looking as if she had had a lift, fresh and breathing easy, nicely done.
A real pleasure to ride with the TNRC especially tonight well done you all.

    I make that 7 ...

Great little select group of 5.

    5?

Was chuffed to have got round on fixed, although the Exedown bonus climb had me grovelling to hold 8th place in the group.

    8?

    :)

  • There were 24 and only 2 at the same time last night. Quantum shit.
