  • Two classics, too much choice.... so took the even out numbers approach. Sam, no gears at the moment so am on fixed about 68GI. Is this going to get me round without slowing the group up too much?

  • ^ modesty

  • Still no fixie at present, any body mind if I do the Kent ride with gears this week?

  • Wondering about joining the Otford ride tomorrow - I met Des on the seafront at Felpham a month ago and he assured me that the TNRC was not as gruelling as it might appear from the outside. Is it just the Soft Lea ride that's not open to newcomers?

  • ^ modesty

Paul - small world, I remember that conversation. Only one way to ascertain the gruelling quota. List open to newcomers as far as I know - Sam's Kent routes are gold standard.

  • I'll be on the new bike. 67.5"

RE: Support wagon: Nah. I'm hoping that if I'm actually out while A is in labour I'll smash the voting for Bad Dad 2011.

    out.
i cannot believe how busy every other bloody tuesday night seems to be!
i'll be at home with naff all to do next week.

    have fun out there.

  • Des, no worries, you'll be fine.

Martin, you could turn up on a motorbike and nobody would mind.

Paul, feel free to come along. Just make sure you fit the bill lighting wise :0)

  • Cheers for the welcome Sam. I must check what the wife and bairns are up to tomorrow before I sign up for this.

Lights are fine - I've done many FNRttCs and three DunRuns, and have settled on a Hope Vision 1 as my main headlight but I sometimes use a knog gator 105. It won't be fully dark tomorrrow night, now that we're so close to the solstice...

  • @ Tim - I'll need to be on train 2, thanks. Can't guarantee getting to Liv St for the first.

  • I'll be on the new bike. 67.5"

Cheers Sam I will be available/prepared for any TNRC work that needs to be carried out back stop, lumen checker, general dad fixit quick etc.

  • Nice one Martin. You might have to lead it if I don't get out of work on time like tonight! If that happens I will try my hardest to get to Otford for 7:45pm, if I'm late I'll try to catch up.

You are right, that is the route. Best bet would be for you to stick it in your Garmin...

  • Yeah, will do it later, Tim. Dinner time now.

Can't believe you just swore "Garmin", I have not used one of those since er Sunday, I have 3/4 of the route in my head the rest is now in the G*!$%n, lets hope you make it, call me if you are close we will of course wait, we dont really want a TNRC ride to trust a Garmin now do we?

Oh and everyone dont forget to bring warm bits for the final leg and poss wait at the station etc, could be 4-6°c out there tomorrow night
