• Yeah thanks for showing me the back street journey. There's no way I'll remember it in the cold light of day though.

+1 for a ladies ride soon!

    Brighton? :)

  • bahaha! chris! thank god you said that I was trying to figure out who the ms. of chris (and which chris?) was! lol...

I'm considering a route down south, lemme think OK? I've been wanting to do short rides, like 40 miles in total so we don't have to train home. Anyone else interested?

There is still the possibility of going out to Richmond to the Bravissimo...LOL!

  • And Wicks, thanks for showing me your route through to Bellenden, that's a good one as Rye Lane is effed lately.

  • I'd be happy for a ride to somewhere other than Brighton seeing as its the only place outside of London I have ridden to so far. (and a ride without a hill like ditchling would be great!)

I'm totally up for a shorter ride too, like a loop or something? don't look to me for suggestions though, I'm only just building up my personal route database.

  • I have no route database, so don't worry. Nhatt apparently does? So yes, a loop would be lovely.

Cambridge ride is 3rd April! You on?

  • Love the idea of a ladies' ride. Roll down to Richmond Park one Sunday perhaps?

Xander, that was probably me DAS'ing you - you did indeed do a skid, and we were entertained.

ETA: I'm planning on coming to Cambridge too. :)

  • Ladies ride sounds like an awesome plan!

@Jayloo, yep, curly hair, that's me, I'm Alex, met you on the xmas ride I think. I did have about 80 extra layers on that day...

  • I have a route to Windsor that makes for a lovely day out ... pootling along the Thames, through Richmond Park and Windsor Great Park, then the train back. I did it fixed last summer, so it's not overly testing, just one hill into Windsor Great Park. The views are well worth it.

I'd love to organise it, but won't be able to do it before June though.

  • awesome times peeps, really enjoyed the laughs and banter with those of you i spoke with, will deffo be coming next time, pending being in london.

and yay/+1 for a loop ride

  • And Wicks, thanks for showing me your route through to Bellenden, that's a good one as Rye Lane is effed lately.

Ooh, can you do a google map Joni? Could be useful for me figuring out a better route to polo.

  • I wish I could have gone. School ran over an hour late and then I had to deal with RA entry tragedy.

    Gah.

  • oh, that was all of us, xander. but you didn't skid, now did you? did anyone of us shout RUBBISH at you?

haha that was probably me. myself and laner were en-route to Brockley Drinks and he stopped off to make use of the gents.

I'm still rubbish at skidding so felt the ignominy of not skidding was better than falling flat on my face in front of the majority of the forums female contingent.

  • Who did I meet on the bridges ride? I need to do some hardcore name to face linkage.

I was Jess, on the very purple bike, with a green monster rucksack.

  • Hatbeard, I remember you two, the RUBBISH was at a dude going north on a black n white bici. or at least black n white were the predominant colors(?) on the whole getup.

  • same here, scoot. there were like, 6 people whose names I didn't know! one of those things where I was embarrassed cos I know I've met you all before...

  • Scoot, I was on bridges. I may have caused an incident with ChainBreaker... oops...
    curly hair, purple chrome bag.

  • he's not called facebreaker for nothing you know..

  • Name tags on the ride?
Should we start a new thread for the ladies ride?
I know this is clefty's territory and since she's a legend at it, I won't step on her lovely be-shoed feet.

  • I remember you nelaii, yeah my puny stick insect arms didn't do much to stop chainbreaker from falling did they...

Btw I'm very jealous of your skidding skills!

  • for pete's sake, he fell again? I think he likes falling.

  • it happened mere seconds after he/someone else said 'chainbreaker hasn't fell over yet'

he claims he was pushed. I don't think anyone witnessed said push though.

  • Ummmm...

  • HB, get out of the womens thread you little minx!

  • same to you, pal!

Do it Joni, I'm sadly not going to be in a position to organise much at the moment, cos of flat selling/house buying/life responsibilities for the majority of the summer, so would welcome any one else organising a ride, that I can follow like a mindless fool and take my mind off how much stress I will encounter this summer!
