• I'll give T4 and Jayloo a kick. via facetube. What about Evil Tanya?

  • i've contributed to the doodle. nice one for sorting miss mouse.
remember those of you who are going to lovebox, it's on june 15th weekend.

  • Ah would love to, these are always fun.
I have no spare weekend nights until I go sadly.
I am have forum leaving drinks on the 22nd June thought that you're all welcome to.

  • Added some dates to the doodle. I actually have a leaving do on June 8, but if ladies drinks start early enough I can come to drinks first and then the other do after.

It will be a change from how I turned up really late to the last drinks.

Edit: Will St James park be free of Jubilee celebration events by June 8? It's a bit impossible to cycle around there at the moment, so many of the roads are closed.

  • ^ I haven't had a problem round there but it's a good point. According to the Royal Parks website:

"St. James's Park and The Mall restrictions and closures

    • Monday 1 May to Sunday 13 June - The Mall (West of Marlborough Gate) plus Constitution Hill and Queen Victoria Memorial are closed to traffic **with diversions in place for cyclists. **
    • Sunday 13 May to Wednesday 13 June - reduced access to watch Changing the Guard due to building of seating in front of Buckingham Palace and the stage around the Queen Victoria Memorial.
    • Monday 14 May to Friday 15 June - restricted access within the Park and outside Buckingham Palace. There will be signage placed around the parks and surrounding roads to advise the public and motorists of any impact on their journeys.
    • Monday 21 May to Saturday 9 June - Birdcage Walk eastbound and Spur Road are closed.
    • From 1 June and over the Diamond Jubilee weekend - all St. James's Park roads will be closed for ceremonies and the Diamond Jubilee activities."

I reckon it'll be fine for us to carefully cycle in to the park but I'll try to find out for sure.

  • I PMed a few peeps on fb this morning Clefty, including fluff, jacqui, Nhatt, Emmy.

drlangster, have you told your gf about this yet? poll: http://www.doodle.com/4psbmw976hg7rw3g

  • Wow. Mario Cipollini is coming!

  • Do we allow him?!

  • Seeing as the poll has 12 people for the 15th and 8 people for the 8th, why don't we have it on the 15th and not need to worry about closures in the park*?

*selfish reason - and then I can come too!

  • ^ love it! :)

  • Shall I change the thread title then?

  • I'm confused, I see more listed for the 8th, than the 15th. I might be able to come into town for the 15th, which would make it even stevens for both dates ...

  • There are 13 people down for 8th and 12 for 15th, so it's close.

I'd like to know who Mario Cipollini really is though - think we should void that user as a joker?

Shall we close the poll tomorrow evening and change the thread title then?

  • 15th works better for me...and I'll have been made permanent in my job by then so even more excuse to celebrate!

  • ^ congrats!

  • Thank you MM! Very pleased :) Loving working with the Chelsea Pensioners!

  • Nice area to work in too!

  • There are 13 people down for 8th and 12 for 15th, so it's close.

I'd like to know who Mario Cipollini really is though - think we should void that user as a joker?

Shall we close the poll tomorrow evening and change the thread title then?
It's very close - do we close the poll now?!

  • It's now 14 vs 11 for the 8th (I'm not including Mario in that) if its still the same tomorrow close the poll and I'll change the thread title.
What's the weather looking like this week though?

  • Great.

Judging by a few different weather forecasts for the 8th, I reckon it'll be about 16/17°C with alternating sunshine and cloud.

I wouldn't count on that though!

  • I cant make it on the 8th anymore... but am so looking forward to meeting you all - Im crossing my fingers for the 15th!

  • The weather is not looking good for Friday evening according to the BBC at the moment, but things are so variable these days it's really hard to tell. Would be good to have a back-up indoor venue though I think.

  • Ok, executive decision.

Going by the Poll, Friday the 8th has it. Weather forecast isn't particularly good for either this friday or next.

So backup rain pub will be The Phoenix This is just down the road, non touristy, pub with decent food. There are railings to lock to if I remember rightly. (If anyone has any better suggestions please shoot me down!)

We'll call it on the day, depending on weather.

    I'll change the thread title.

  • ^ Good work Clefty.

  • i'm in for a tramp juice, weather + work depending.

anywhere in particular in st james' park?
