Cool. How about somewhere like Potters Field Park (with views across the river/Tower Bridge/GLA) - The Draft House on Tower Bridge Road would be the obvious place to end up. They do interesting beer.
Or, Lincoln's Inn Fields which is virtually on the doorstep of Ye Olde White Horse (nice, old pub but small and again, not a Smiths).
Will keep thinking...

The Horseshoe Inn, SE1 (just behind Tooley St) is pretty bike friendly. Went there for drinks the other night after work and they didn't blink an eye at us rolling our bikes through and the beer garden is very spacious with ample storage room. Never sat inside but it looked fine to me. Apparently they have Mongolian food too, no idea what that entails...

Interesting!
Mongolian = Mainly beef, I think.
I'm up for trying this place.

I've recommended the Horseshoe Inn for ages, e.g. for SEs, but somehow the forum has never bitten.

My girlfriend would be really interested, and she would also like to recommend perhaps a ladies drink picnic?
Sorry she isn't on here proper, she hates the internets. -

A picnic is a smashing idea, assuming this weather will last!
St. James' park or Green park are obvious / central choices, or Jubilee Gardens, or I plump for the tranquil and fascinating Postman's Park EC1A. Some more on that one here.
Shall I throw some dates out there?
Weds 30 May
NOT Fri 1 June (Mine / Hatbeard's birthday party!)
Thurs 7 June
Fri 8 June
Sat 8 JuneOr later?

Any of those places are grand with me BUT can't do any of those dates!!! Darn my best friend who now lives in San Fran for coming over to visit...She'll be gone on Mon 11 June so can do pretty much any time after that.
Doodle? (not that I know how to set one up)... -

If the weather stays this nice, we're deffo having tramp beers in the park! -

I'm in* ... have added to the doodle poll.
*depending where ... I'd love to bring the bike, but can only ride a very very short distance / combining with train - Jubilee Gdns would be great, as it's near Waterloo (actually, so is St James' Park). Don't let that override any others' preferences though.

Done! And rather formally also entered my surname.... stuck in midday work mode.

St. James Park then on Friday, June 8?
-
• #1473
June 8 is the same night as the first London Calling event, in case anyone is planning on going to it.
I am hit and miss for anything until after the 11th due to a big deadline at work. Might be okay, might not.

Done! Thanks for sorting Alex : )
OK Central it is, basically what we need is a central ish park, with a pub option - if the weather is shit - sam smiths pub would be best for cheap beer/cheesy chips action.
