  • Ah yeah, the 2 and 3 does have alloy fork.

  • Andy, what do you think of Scott Addict Cx HMF? Another good deal at Westbrook cycles.

  • I've not ridden one, but have only ever heard good things about them from people who race on them.

  • Just picked up my Boardman frame post Armourtex'ing and can reveal that the oh-so-smooth tube junctions were achieved with the use of (now removed) body filler.

  • You happy?

    New weight?

  • ^^cheaters

  • I'm going to build it up tonight, spoke to Hillbilly about the crown race issue and he recommended taking it to Cadence- who I had totally forgotten about.

So, that should be the fork sorted. Now if only the handlebars would turn up!

EDIT just checked the tracking info, they'll be here tomorrow.

  • Thinking of buying a Ridley Crossbow:
52 cm, Shimano Tiagra, Zornyc carbon fork, ritchey seat post, stem, bars.
Scratches and marks here and there but "no crashes".
    425€

    Good price?

  • Probably, try and lower it, and make sure everything's in working order, i.e. chain not worn, rims still have lots of life in them, brakepad aren't worn etc.

  • Spam: I'm selling my CAADX

Will sort some pictures out at some point.

I had one of these - bought it new from Pearsons - watch out for the sizing - I'm 5'10" and needed a 52cm - they come up really big - my usual size is 54 or larger.

Great bike but as Ed says - check the braking surfaces carefully - mine were screwed after a winter of commuting and a bit of off road/ cross action - a set of Swissstop pads is £26 odd but worth it.

Good price if wheels/ drivetrain isn't worn out.

  • Going to get this as a winter / cx bike sometime soon.

Ah! That's unfortunate... ): How much lighter was the frame post strip/coat? Commuted on mine for the first time in a while this morning, forgot how nice a ride it is. Thinking about losing the guards and getting some big cross tyres on there for a coast to coast trip later in the year.

  • Barely anything in it- 10g lighter after re-painting.

Quite a lot smarter though as I'd been through a few bushes on mine which had made the paint a little tatty.

  • Budget model tend not to have BB30, CAAD8 for example is also the same (square taper to BB30).

AFAIK this is the only main noticeable difference.

  • So is it just a British 68mm BB? I thought that was better for cross and prevailing British conditions anyway?

  • Does the Sora version actually have a BSA BB shell then? Or does it just have one of those BSA adapters?

    Back to the original question:

There was also a disc version but they are rare as hen's teeth.

  • BSA BB shell rather than an adaptor.

  • Ironically that's a better solution for proper 'cross.

  • Yeah I have customers with their BB need checking out after a month of CXs, I would have thought BB30 be fine for cross.

  • Honestly don't know why 'dale bothers with BB30 on anything but their top-end race bikes. It just causes dealers undue pain.

  • Fuckin' A.

  • Interestingly, their top-end MTBs are now PF30.

  • Anybody godt any sugestions for a steel cyclocross frameset. I really like All City Macho Man, Ritchey Swiss Cross (too expensive) or Singular Kite, but the sz. small is just to big (something like a sz. 54x55) i need something in sz. 52.

    Any sugestions to something similar?
