  • If anyone is in need of attire, I have a rather nice vintage tweed suit for sale, 38" chest (though it comes up a little larger), 32" waist on the trousers. GBP 50 including a tweed cap, which is what I paid for it last year (thanks Coppi).

sounds like it would be my fit, will pm

  • My Nana is sending me two of my Grandad's pipes. Gonna be sweet.

  • Sure thing bro.

I am on the dreaded night shift finishing at 8.30am, is a 9am drop by too early?
    PM me details

  • Oh I am wildly excited now, picked my pack up on Sat, got the rest of my outfit today and did a dry run - i look daft enough to pass i reckon!

Also finalised pimping the bike up, lets just hope it doesn't rain on the jaunt to work this week!

  • Also very excited. I'm anticipating looking very dapper indeed, but the only tweed I will be wearing will be on my head in the form of a 8 panel cap. I hope I don't get marks docked for tweed paucity.

Popped in to see Mr Sargent this weekend for chainset and pair of caliper brakes. Bike is almost there now, but I've got less than a week to build it and some parts are still on order from The Old Bicycle Company and SJS. Fingers crossed!

  • two very simple questions:

    • where's the list of people going?
    • is there a plan to ride enmasse?

I'm somewhat concerned that lfgss crew will be in the minority here.

  • Perhaps maybe the LFGSS members should take it as a chance to mingle rather than group. Sort of like going to a party where you don't know anyone. Initially you're apprehensive but you end up talking to more people because you didn't have your mates as a crutch. (not a slight by the way)

  • ^you'll be putting your lock keys in a hat next...

won't be going for this anymore. someone else snap it up!

  • Ive managed to collect the bits and bobs for my bike. Camoflauge for the Areo ALu frame! No one will even notice!

  • Aye aye! Chatting to other, similarly attired strangers, is all part of the experience. It’s part of the point of fancy dress surely.
I've only met two people from this board, neither of whom are going, and my mate missed out on a ticket, so I'll definitely be doing as these chocolates suggest:

sorry, just that, outside of the tnrc crew I've not met with a fair few peeps from the forum for a while (superprecise, bluequin, dovles etc). This is an opportunity to mingle... as a group :P

  • I'm Friday is my shopping day. Last minute tweeding.

  • There's loads to be had Sumo, LOADS. but finding it cheap is the key, charity shops are asking £30+ for the shittest of flearidden jackets.

I managed to get mine off some smackhead market stall on Brick Lane this Sat. The woman didn't even know what day it was, but that was me sorted for all of £15!

  • I met several LFGSS people in Cambridge yesterday at the end of Scully's ride who were going on Tweed Ride, so there will be someone to hold your hand if you need it

  • I'll be wearing a waxed cotton jacket rather than a tweed one but with tweed trousers. Is that acceptable ?

  • No.

  • By which I mean, yes.

  • are there any spare/unwanted tickets available on the last official day of name swopping? a friend of a friend wants to know. many thanks.

  • Anyone planning on a pre tweed feed, a bite to eat on the Friday night?

Perhaps it would be a good way for some of the provincial chappies to meet those o us who reside in civilisation.

  • Who of us on the forum are actually doing the Tweed Run this year?

Would be interesting to meet people who wear brown shoes...
