DO NOT USE NEATSPROOF OIL on your brooks. it will indeed break it in faster, but it softens the leather too much in the process. PROOFHIDE PROOFHIDE PROOFHIDE!

I'm riding 700 miles in a months time. I need to get my saddle sorted asap so I can concentrate on getting other things organised. I'm not saying you're wrong, but I need to try this out, it's not like I paid much for it. I am, however, going to be very careful about applying too much.
In other news, I need some fucking tweed! -

Teddy is right... don't do neatsfoot. You have time to break it in the right way over the next month. 100 miles/week is nothing to a man who goes by the handle, "Sumo". If you over soften the leather you will need to over tighten the nut and that's when it all goes wrong. Just be patient and tell your arse to HTFU
-

sumo, don't do this.
loosen the bolt under the saddle to sag it a bit - ride it for a couple weeks and then tension it to what it used to be.
quickest, easiest and cheapest way to break in a saddle.

Is £25 a reasonable offer Andi? Will pick up.

Henry, they're all right, DO NOT use neatsfoot. For an old mummified dried up saddle, like my 1971 B-72 was, it's perfect. For a new saddle, you will ruin it.
I would disagree with Ed and not touch that nut either - it's a risky business once you start fiddling with them. Best left alone IMO. Ride it lots, it's the only way.

Picked up my pack today from the lovely people at Aubin and Wills, very impressed with the lack of snuff this year. Was hoping for some pipe cleaners though. Bag is much more bike friendly than last years, might cut off the handle and modify(sure someone on here did it before).
Nice to see the Rob Sargent track bike in the window as well.
This years armband is lovely as well. -

If anyone is in need of attire, I have a rather nice vintage tweed suit for sale, 38" chest (though it comes up a little larger), 32" waist on the trousers. GBP 50 including a tweed cap, which is what I paid for it last year (thanks Coppi).

I will be there again this year, but have something else to wear ;)

You should come up to Niall's reception in Britannia afterwards.
I will have to miss the whole Tweed Run.
Tilt it back ever so slightly off horizontal to keep your bum on the wide comfy part.
