  • my miserable hankie was no match to your magic cloth.

I appreciated your hankie too Cedywedy! :) it helped to clean off the foam of the powerful bike grease cloth :D

  • Devilish!

  • Little White Bike - so sorry about the stockings. I hope the magic grease you mentioned above did the trick.

  • Absolutely awesome day (apart from bike fail) Thanks to all the marshalls, it was interesting seeing it from a 'punters' point of view this year, and you all did an epic job in keeping it running smoothly.

Ted,Jacqui, and all involved - well done!

Just saw the stolen bikes thread- awful news Clefty, sorry to hear that.

  • Massive thanks to all my wonderful marshals - you were great today!!! alex x

and of course, to all the superb non-cycling helpers - couldn't have done it without you!

  • Amazing day!

    Indeed

  • Woohoo! Back home in one piece and can i just say - what a day!

Tweed run fantastic, weather was good, riders were a good bunch, crowd was good, what more can we ask for!?!

Followed the run by a few cheeky beers on the grass outside the WMC and then onto BQ's celebration.

Good to meet some new faces - Oliver Schlick, Harrong, Fred and probably countless more! Sniffy (and your lady) - good to properly put a name to a face, and remember "the kids are idiots" made me laugh earlier on!

Also good to be in the company of the "usual" crowd - you now who you are ;-)

A MASSIVE thanks to all the marshals and organisers, Teddy you're a legend (i rode past you on Regent's Street and doffed my cap saying "ooooh, number 001!" should have clicked, will meet you properly one day...

Wish i could have stayed out longer at the Britannia but alas, duty calls! Till next time!

  • And traditionally...

  • wow, just an amazing day. Main thanks to Alex who put in tons of effort organising and running the reccys; which without the day wouldn't have gone anywhere near as well.

Marshalling was both the most rewarding and tiring thing. only downside being not having time to talk to all the lovely people along the ride.

    thanks tweedys!

  • a few photos from today up on my flickr, if you spot yourself or a friend in any of them and want a copy just let me know :)

Click on options, select high speed, there's quite a bit and is mostly on individual styles and outfits.

  • Totally awesome. Thanks Ted and Jacqui - hope your burnt shoulders are feeling a bit better now? :(

    The organisation was utterly seamless.

  • thank you all for making it such an exceptional day!

  • thank you all for making it such an exceptional day!

Err no, it's us that should be thanking you, Jacqui and especially the marshals. It was an amazing day, thank you. Marshals were awesome, by the way. thank you guys and gals!

  • I had a perfectly wonderful day. Thanks to everyone there. It was the best yet in my opinion, by far. Great weather, great numbers (more than 500, surely?!), great route and great end venue.

To those I said I'd see at the party on Redchurch Street, sorry for not making it on time... By the time I turned up at 10pm it was all over :-(

  • My shots of the day, including Ewan McGregor who I didn't realise at the time.

  • Amazing day out! Thanks Teddy, Jacqui and Alex for all your organising!

  • I've now gone off cucumbers for at least 6 months!

I want my own special blendTweed Run catering crew tea. And a merino t-shirt :-)

It was a pleasure to be part of the event and meeting the other volunteers, so I didn't notice how hard we worked until we were clearing up.

Hot date with Homebase - successful

And so to bed. London Classic in the morning.

Yeah, as I said on earlier posting, big props to all the "unseen" workers who helped to make this a special day - chappeau!
