Bearing in mind I've only worn them for an evening and haven't worn the jeans for >6m as I didnāt want to increase the damage. ...
...A little, although it's hard to differentiate between the darn and the patch if that makes sense? They sit in similar places.
On balance I think they'll wear in nicely and probably won't notice soon.
Also noticed in another thread you are now describing your GF as fiancƩe. Congrats!

I've mended jeans like that before. A thin patch to get some structure, then a lot of back and forth with a regular sewing machine. Was stiff the first day or two, after that I didn't notice it

I've got a denim jacket that is very stiff and too new looking despite a few washes.
What's the quickest way to break it in? -
• #3386
Wear it

Take it to the beach. Roll in sand. Go to the sea. Wash it while wearing it in the sea.
Stand in the sun and let it dry. -

@dancingĀ james
I'm wearing it right now whilst doing some building work.
Yesterday I wore it to the beach for some mackerel fishing (not even joking).
Sounds like I'm doing the right stuff. I'll keep at it. -

15% off at Rivet and Hide over this weekend. Got a pair of the Iron Heart 21oz 555ās the other week and love the denim. Couldnāt resist a type III in the same fabric while the saleās on

Does the darn feel stiff at all?
Just by way of an update. The repair is now unnoticeable to my crotch.

Yeah man, sorry my quoting skills are weak. Plus holding a baby and texting with one fat thumb. Iām a 34 in most things but know thatās vanity sizing because i had a bespoke suit for my wedding and looked at the actual measurements. I have a really short inside leg too. Just wouldnāt mind your take on whether to order up down or whatever.

Put my iron heart 888s on, well as far as below my arse. They're too small now!
Tagged 30w 36leg I'd anyone is interested, come up 32 on the waist.

Ha, no problem.
Well, I am pretty biased in favour of the 'Osaka 5' and their mindset about making jeans so take this with a pinch of salt... But yeah, I really love Warehouse denim. Every time I have strayed away I just end up being disappointed so I definitely think they're worth the outlay. Looking at it from a cost per wear perspective, a pair of four year old Warehouse's I have are the best bang for buck jeans I've ever owned and I have owned many.
Anyway, to your question. In your shoes, I'd undoubtedly size up to a 36". I wear 33/34" Warehouse but took these in a 36". When they turned up in New York, I was like... fuck. I've had these hemmed and the waist is tiny. I'm never gonna fit into these.
Suffice to say, three weeks later they're incredibly comfortable and fit my (true) waist perfectly. They're on the slightly higher end of being mid-high rise, which is a nice contrast to most of my high rise trousers and jeans. They have a 31.5" inseam on all sizes 32" and upwards, which I had hemmed to 29" just to be safe. I could probably have done 28-28.5".
Chain stitching on their 1938 Union Special at clutch is free, by the way, so if you buy them they can take them up to whatever length you need. Are you in London? If so, get to the store - if you haven't been, it's a total destination. One that I'd travel to from afar, to be honest. Genuinely my favourite bricks and mortar shop in the world.

Ultimately, any 1947 pair of jeans is gonna fit similarly to this, though. I'd just stick to Warehouse/Full Count if I were you. They've really mastered the 1947 fit. Far better than Levis themselves IMO. Who are now making LVC in Turkey, with non Cone Mills denim.... but charging the same.
Well, yes, these definitely wouldn't work for you š
@hugo7 tidy. I've never had a repair darned, only patched. Does the darn feel stiff at all?
