Good thing I headed in on Thursday, only about 8 pairs of 36" and none in the style I want.
Though plenty still available for those who are snake hipped..

Looks like the dog has forced the wash of a second pair before I'd wanted to, this time the RPM Wests. After getting his mucky paws all over my edwins, I was tug of warring with him while eating a curry on sunday night. The inevitable happened.
That it backed up my argument that we shouldn't be eating in front of the telly was lost on the other half who was, instead, in stitches and lambasting me for my idiocy.

Could someone recommend me some decent chinos?
I need something that is not dark blue... But will look good with denim.
Is it worth looking for selvedge?
I'm after good value and sale prices. -

Epaulet or Gustin?
I've had good luck with both, though some have had issues with Gustin fit. -
• #2536
Thanks for the suggestions.
Liked the look of the caramel duck chinos from epaulet if hey weren't so narrow at the hem.
I'd also prefer to avoid shipping from USA. -

How about tan WW2 chinos? I've still got a Denime repro pair that I bought in the 90s, bloody lovely but don't get a look in now I'm #everythingblack... They look fantastic with a type 2 jacket and a plain t-shirt... Get the Steve McQueen look with an A2 or G1 flight jacket... And a baseball mitt...
The Real McCoy's in Covent Garden sell them, expect to drop ~£250...

Dropped my funky 70s wing-collar Wrangler jacket in to get altered last week. I've always loved it in theory but had issues with the arms, they were way too fat in balloony a horrible early 80s shell-suit kinda way. Took it to the Chinese tailor on The Cut and she measured that as well as both being weirdly fat, one arm was almost 2cm wider than the other. She's unstitched each arm right down the back to the waistband and will trim a re-stitch it this week. Looking fwd to seeing how it comes out. Worth a punt for £35 I thought.

I am Japanese sized, Japanese denim is supposed to be good, I am going to Japan, where should I go to get a decent pair?
-
• #2540
has this been sorted? Worth doing for my jean jackets..
-
• #2541
What do you want? Super heavy, boutique, vintage style denim or something a bit more contemporary and wearable?
-
• #2542
I guess more contemporary and wearable, not super heavy.
If that's not something I need to go to Japan for, then I won't bother, but while I'm there, I want to fill it with doing/seeing/buying stuff I actually am interested in rather than following mr gap year's travel blog, or traipsing behind every other foreigner who is just ticking off everything from the Lonely Planet guide book.
And the kicker for me, as @rogan has been discussing, I don't fit into jeans, my legs are tiny. So I was sort of hoping they might make jeans designed for Japanese people in Japan, which would probably fit me very well without having to go through tailoring etc etc.

Just pick up a nice pair of Denime then, the Real Basic is a good range and the prices aren't too crazy... Their WW2 chinos are also magnificent... Not sure what their distribution is like now but you should be able to find them pretty easily...
Studio D'Artisan, Buzz Rickson, Full Count or Warehouse if you want some special denim that'll stand up in the corner of the room when you take them off...

• #2544
Thanks dude! I'll check them all out

I asked the same question before going in april.
It's upthread somewhere.I ended up ordering a pair of momotaro after I got home...
The best selection I found was the market at Ueno station in Tokyo. Both old and new.
Really good prices. Got two pairs of jeans, two jackets and a laptop sleeve for £110
