  • I'm generally a 34/34 (with a small turn up).

I have one pair of Gustin Jeans. American Heavy, 16.25oz. I bought them in 34 straight. Gustin sizing here. They came out pretty much exactly as advertised. I wear them just about every day, and they have stretched to be comfortable (very slightly too loose).

The problem I have is that the 34s come with a long 36 leg. I am too OCD to have them hemmed, so I have a double turn up. Sounds like you may not have issues on the leg front if you are worried about length.

I took a punt on the 33s, because they have a 34 leg and if they came as advertised, they should have a 34 waist, which would stretch to about a 35. Snug, but within reason.

Unfortunately, they turned up today as a true/small 33. I could close the button (just), but they were too tight to even consider wearing in polite company.

This is the issue with experimenting and having to wait for 2+ months for a result.

Pretty much similar problem I have with the grey silk. My 34 gustins are too loose, tried the 33 but damn they are skin tight. :(

  • Saw the Interstate shop was empty yesterday; gutted. Been shopping there since Starter jacket days in the late 80's.

The internet is killing street wear shops; Hideout is closing soon too.

real shame walked passed hideout today they looked to be refurbing or striping out not sure which, like both shops.

Did you got the slim or the straight silk?

  • the straight, I can get in them but they are uncomfortable.

Granted if I actually get down to my old body weight they would probably fit fine

  • I've got the slim 34's

    Swap?

  • arge if you had the 34 straights I'd be interested, but there's no way I'd fit the slims

(oh and minor problem that I'm in San Francisco!)

  • Curses

  • These Gustins are a true 31" as seen here

£70 to the first person who wants them.

  • Wouldn't that be 32 if the waist line was pulled up to the recommended (by most makers) way of measurement?

  • No, I did that. They are a 31.

Couldn't photo then like that is the denim is to stiff

  • If anyone wants them I've brought them in with me today so can be collected from Kentish Town or I can post them for £4

  • Thanks. I go on a diet then.

  • They're too big for me

    Out

  • boast post

  • I used to be like Moog but with bigger guns. Now, I'm more like TS with a smaller ponch

  • I'm an Adonis...

  • I'm an Adonis...

  • SB, what leg are the Gustins again?

  • Shame about Interstate. Their stock had gone downhill recently and, whilst for years it was a joy to shop there, when I went in this time last year, the older guy (without the dreads) was a dick - got all defensive as I was asking for jeans they didn't stock anymore. Nipped over to Liberty (yes, indeed) and got what I wanted...

  • SB, what leg are the Gustins again?

    Slim leg. 34" inseam

  • Before these go to eBay, anyone???

  • Shame about Interstate. Them and Bond used to be my regular go to places!

  • Has anyone bought Gustin slim and straight? Is a 33 (or any size for that matter) in slim still a 33 in straight? Their waist size does seem to be spot on, but I'm wondering if the cut affects things...as often it does.

  • I'm done with Gustin. The slim legs just don't taper enough for me and the leg length and inconstancy of their sizing + waiting times and import duties make the proposition seem a bit shit
