That pair of Lee Z101 I was trying to get ride of earlier in the thread are ostensibly 32, but are 36" when you measure them. Now I am an actual 32 they just drop off me.
On another note, I see the RPM West are **finally **about to ship.

Hehehe!
At least now now I don't need to start the "How to get mayonaise out of..." thread.

I find the fit of Gustin pretty much spot on. Length is a bitch, but I'm sure somewhere in London can hem + chain stitch ? cost me $25 here in SF, but at least it was done right

Shipping...tax....alteration...how to make a reasonably good deal not a great deal. Still waiting on my slates.
-
• #1231
Well if I wasn't so fat, I could get the size that are 34 length which is perfect for me.
Anyway I think they are still very good value for money compared to some of the main stream ones

Seems my RPM West 16oz Denim is in the post. I'd totally forgotten about the kickstarter for these jeans. Again a longer inseam than I need... but at 35 inch I'm not sure I'll bother re-hemming them. Can't remember what size I ordered, hope they fit!

Yay got the 16oz RPMWests. Man they are pretty awesome, stiff as a board, well hemmed, lovely looking. Now, I guess I put them away since it's currently running in the 30's here.

hmm 2" cuff (double rolled). Seems a bit much, perhaps I should get 2" removed ? The inseam is 35", my actual inseam is 31". Hmm decisions decisions... only $25 to get it done, but once done cannot be undone.

What fit? Double roll up only, and only just, works on loser fits. I don't like how they break on a more narrow fit as the three layers of fabric gets too rigid. Might be able to pull it off with chunky boots though
-
• #1236
classic fit, so straight. Also with the 16oz there's no give at all. Yeah with proper boots it looks fine, but I don't always wear boots.
Not the best photo but with these boots it looks "ok"

Still think I'm going to get them hemmed.

• #1237
agree
-
• #1238
hem and keep the off cuts for future repairs.
-
• #1239
ooo didn't think of that! I threw out the off cuts for my Gustins :(
Now, how much to hem is the question. I'm really a 31, so was thinking down to 33 ?
(if you hadn't noticed I'm terrible at making choices) -
• #1240
2 inch turnups?
-
• #1241
Just got 2 pairs from Gustin and they are massively long. Is it just me, or are the front pockets minuscule?
-
• #1242
well that's what is on them atm. I'm just paranoid about getting them shortened TOO much.
I guess probably down to 32 would make more sense -
• #1243
If they go too short wear them like that. You're/we're lucky we line in a time where any fit goes.
(....well nearly^^)

• #1244
haha I don't want my socks showing :P

• #1245
I was going to ask in the shop, but it's run by two hipsters, so I won't get any useful answer there
-
• #1246
Increase your 'looks'. I quite a little short on some days.
-
• #1247
Is 2" turn ups that bad ?!
-
• #1248
I'm rocking standard issue rockabilly oversized turnups one pair at the moment, about 4" at a guess. Another pair with I keep double turned up 2-inchers. Others I keep pencil thin and some I get hemmed for no turnup. When you wear jeans every single day, a bit of variety is welcome I find.

If they're unwashed, leave them with a bit of extra length so they can shrink without getting short. if you're a 31, and they're 35, i'd turn them up 2" and leave them, or maybe hem 1", as they'll prob shrink an inch or two in the first wash
