Proper selvedge jeans

I know they're frowned upon now but I have a lovely pair of Evis (pre 'u') selvedge jeans that have lasted me nearly 12 years. The hand painted seagull pocket logos have long since gone but they are beautiful.

Duffer were the first shop in the UK to retail EVIS back in '93ish. They bought them direct from Japan at retail price then doubled up and sold for £250+, WITH the red tab!
One day some geezer came in and bought about 8 pairs and they obviously thought result!
Few days later they got a lawsuit in the post from LEVIS saying thy had to destroy them all or they'll take them to court for breach of trademark etc. The fella who came in and bought the jeans worked for LEVIS and he had about 40 pages of photos and infringement details(red tab, arcuate etc)
So that's why when retainers got onto EVIS in the late 90's they had to cut the red tab off

Sold all my EVIS on eBay a few years back but they are ace denim. If I ever go to Japan I'll bring back about 3 pairs with blank rear pockets and red tab*

*Japan has different TM laws so they can get away with having the 'Evis' red tab

all the edwin they sell are manufactured in italy, they are shit, do not touch

Japanese Edwin only... There were some German Edwins for a while BITD... Weird scene... Never actually bought any but was given a pair once that I mashed to fuck... Great jeans...

Edwin is good, bit too much the stitching in the pockets... I like it simple.
