• Wicksie, does your camera have an SD card slot or is the memory integrated to the camera?

  • I've just bought one of these from 7dayshop for occasional use. Looks simpler to mount on my helmet, plus I like the idea of 5-minute section rolling-record.

  • did a quick edit from a mass of footage i had. Nothing special just fooling around. Gopro hero.

  • eddie you ride too close to the kerbs, you should stick out a bit further than that.

  • Nice! Love the slowmo bits

  • What is the song? Nice vid, love the slow mo. :)

    Eggs Eggs. (lovely eggs).

Nice video by the way - even if you didn't acknowledge my brilliant "eggs eggs" joke.

You should sling your footage through a stabiliser for a smoother glide through the streets (if you wanted that kind of thing).

Be nice to see something shot from really low (a few inches off the road).

cheers man, yeah maybe stabilising would help, im just fucking around really.

here's another rough edit if anyone is interested - worth watching it in full HD
YouTube - Cycle Test, GoPro Hero HD

  • amazing!

I'd been wondering if you'd put it thought anything. The colours look good and the footage is to a good standard

if you like i could run it through the magic machines at my work.

I can't decide between the gopro hd or the hd170, but i found out that the gopro has a pal firmware update so i'm leaning more towards that

  • it's just amazing to the amount of mounts gopro offer on sale - you can stick it to literally anything.

thanks. what magic machine are we talking about?

  • Avid DS Symphony and twixtor! Its lets you make stuff soooooooooper slowmotion

  • Finally got a GoPro on order! Its been a tricky decision but I think its the best one to go for.

The quality of the video is really close to the HD170 and there are firmware updates that can give you the different framerate options so you can work in PAL and it seems easier to mount on pretty much anything AND it can go underwater if you like. I wasn't sure if the HD170 was more than splashproof

so eerrrrr yeah, thats it really

  • Yeah, the HD170 is not very commital with it's waterproofness. They say 5m one time, then in another section it says not for prolonged periods. Not very concrete.

Did you order it direct from their site?

also have you seen that you can do 3D videos if you have two of them!

  • Amazon, so my parents could get double nectar points!

That was another selling point, the extra bits seem really good, so you can build on what you already have rather than having to buy a whole new thing

  • It has arrived! But I really wish I'd ordered it with the handlebar mount! I don't suppose anyone has one that they would like to sell?

I can't seem to find one in stock in london

  • Ebay sellers have them brand new. The mount is also universal so you can get one for any camera.

  • Hey all,

Just thought you might appreciate a heads-up about this helmet cam -

    http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=777_1&products_id=110355

15 squids and apparently decent quality!

At this price it's practically disposable. I have ordered one so I'll let you know how it goes. I tried to order one last time they got them in stock, but they sold out almost immediately.

    Happy shooting :D

  • I was toying with the idea of getting a camera too. Was looking at the Muvi cams on Amazon they go for around £45-50 depending on model. Nice find fotochap will wait to hear back.

  • Okay well I have received it and it's charged up. It's really small and light, and the quality feels good.

Will test it out and report back.

  • I came accross these via google search yesterday and ordered one too. Seem to be good for the price according to reviews.
I only want a camera to record any serious cut ups resulting in my injury (not to hound car drivers generally because I am one as well).
So not bothered if pic quality isn't great as long as it shows the car etc and sequence of events.

I think people get hung up on the latest stuff when if your not filming for utube etc why waste money.

Therefore even £50 is too much for my needs. Hopefully these will live up to the description.

  • You get whacked with import tax from 7dayshop btw. :-(

Really, what's the limit? I've bought a fair bit of film from there with no bother
