Frames don't have chainlines
They don't have specific chainlines, but they do impose maxima and minima :-)

So for 120mm OLD and 25mm tyres that's about 20-55mm depending on chain width?

For a conventional design with chainstays running straight from the BB shell to the dropouts, its more like 35-55mm :-)

I believe RD2 needs a 103mm bb with the chainring on the outside for a 42mm chainline.

Sounds about right but that can be tight for spider/chainstay clearance with some frames, so you can end up having to go with something like 113mm and the chainring on the inside.

Thanks, sounds about right.

I've got a Pompino v4 frame. I'm running a Sugino Messenger crankset (44T) with a 103mm BB as recommended by Sugino. I use a thin spacer with my 18T Dicta freewheel and it looks dead straight to me. No noise, smooth as butter. Does that help?

What a drop thought! Really high saddle to bar

Unsure where to offer this up, but I have a single avid bb7 (plus rotor) for sells. Still new, unused, and in box.

I could make that...

Could you tell me the "bb to saddle top" measure? Thanks!
-
• #5743
32" from BB centre to saddle rails. So 33-34" to top?

Thanks a lot, pretty much same as my usual.
Just bought tomvanhalen xl pompetamine and was trying to figure out if I was gonna need a head tube exension. Turns out that I do! -

Damn a Pompino is so fun !! I've never felt this astonishing playful feeling on a bike before! It does handle well, jump all bunny hop you could dream for, and fast cornering!

don't make fun of people with height issues, it's not nice :)
Speaking of which, anyone ever used one of these on their pomp?

Hah! Seriously though, a decent positive rise stem is much less anti than a steerer extention. Also stiffer

Yeah, embrace the flip. It's secretly pro.
Frames don't have chainlines. Hubs and chainsets do.
