I've had 35mm on mine, but there was no space for a mudguard so I dropped down to 32mm

that topic is from 2011, did on one upgrade pompino after that to 420mm chainstays?

Sorry I didn't notice the age of the topic.
In Dec 2011 the V2 Ponpino was on sale ( http://web.archive.org/web/20120111204715/http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/FROOPV2/on_one_pompino_frame_2011) with a 420 mm chainstay. As was the V1 with unfortunately a TBC chainstay length. In Jan of that year the chainstay length of the V1 was as listed as TBC.
I also checked the Pompetamine which is based on the same frame but I suppose could have longer chainstays to accommodate fatter tyres. In Dec 2011 its chainstay length was 420 mm, http://web.archive.org/web/20111125055703/http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/FROOPOMPET/on_one_pompetamine_cro_mo_urban_frame. But in Jan of 2011 it was TBC. Unsure if the frame was changed or someone found a tape measure.
I'm unsure if this information is of any use.
At times the internet archive can be an amazing tool, http://archive.org/web/ for websites or simply http://archive.org for all sorts of stuff.

35mm CX tyres just about squeeze in the old one, but don't leave much room for mud.
Just bought some Schwalbe Smart Sam, apparently 700x35c... Inevitable scraping? Shall I just put them on another bike and get some 32c knobblies for the pomp?

Nah they'll be fine unless you're riding in cross race amounts of gloop. Still enough clearance to work fine in most conditions.

Just measured the head tube angle of an older pompino (V3 I think) with original forks.
Took an accurate photo of the build.
It measured exactly 71°.
I think it's a bit too slack, no? Especially as on-one site states it's 73°...
Anyone else done such measurements? -

All this talk of pomp geo... Are you all sure the geo was the same in all sizes? I'm pretty sure the small has a crazy different seat tube angle... Also you couldn't fit a 35tyre in the small, but you could in the medium?
All if I remember correctly and comparing pomps at polo...
Also the different drop outs on the pompino and pompetamine make for slight differences in what you can fit (can't remember which way round, but when my two pomps meet again I'll compare)

How do the track ends differ between the Pompino and Pompetamine?

Are they the same year models? They have tinkered with the geo couple times in the past, like making longer chainstay for more tyre clearance in 2011 or 2012(?)
But then again, wouldn't be surprised about anything with these frames anymore :D -

Disc mounts...

^ thanks I thought so to so was puzzled by the comment above regarding slight dropout differences changing what tyre you can fit. I assume that's just because of different OLD rather than anything else?

Adding a rotor means you've got an extra constraint so you might not be able to use every part of the dropout.

maybe one of the designs have the slot further out thus changing effective chain stay length.

Hey, does anybody in here have a large Pompino they're willing to sell as f+f only? Please message me if you do. I've seen the new one but it's out of my budget at £200.
Thanks.

Pompetamine's been back in off road mode for the weekend. Forgotten how much fun it is getting out there and getting muddy.

would something like this 35mm fit on the the pomp?

I had those on my Pompetamine with no problems. I did have trouble squeezing them under Hammered VO guards though. It was possible, but only just and any debris at all in there would have caused bother.
Without mudguards, they were great.

What gearing are you running on that Chris? 34/18 or 39/18 or similar?

I've got 47mm schwalbe hurricanes with (too small) plastic guards on the pompetamine. There's enough room for it, but you need to be accurate with wheel placing. I reckon you could get some big apples in there with out guards.
Sorry bit late to the party with this...

great threat ... since last year I want to ride pompino. to get canti + horizontal dropouts at an good price is harder than I thought. to get my size a pomp has never worked. Well, I finally ordered my frame in raw now. I like the seat stays on v4. hope I can ride soon...
