also anyone got any idea what that little spike is on the back of my headtube inside the front triangle i've been racking my brain as what it could possibly be used for but i'm too stupid to come up with anything useful.

Yes, it's a pump nipple - for a frame pump. Bro do you even old bikes?

LOL that's a funny way of putting it.
And obviously I do do old bikes, cause I did know what it was :P

and thanks tester i had no idea there was so much in flat bar brake levers, im looking to use over sized riser bars eventually as i have an oversized stem and i like the look of the oversized bars (does this mean that they don't all taper down to the same size?)
They all taper to 22.2mm where the levers fit, as noted above the amount you can cut off before running out of 22.2 section varies.

no bro i don't even old bikes :( although this was one of my thoughts i cant but see how its going to mount it theres nothing the other side to also grapple, it its now a #deathspike shame it isn't on the front then i could hurt pedestrians with it!

yeah thought that would be the case, i'll just have to look carefully at the risers i'm buying then and make sure they taper as quickly as possible

"New Pompino. New graphics. New paint. New geometry. Coming soon."
here you go vlad all the info we seem to have got i'm afraid.
looks good but personally i much prefer the current wishbone makes it a little different! -

The other end of the pump has a groove which wraps slightly around the seat tube, it stays in position because the bottom-out spring in the pump is forcing it into the acute angle made by the top tube and seat tube.

Interesting!
I prefer the current one as well (now that I see that)
What have you managed to do so far with your white pompino frame?I was tempted to go for the same one, I live just by New Cross as well. Not quick enough though! :)

What have you managed to do so far with your white pompino frame?**currently i have propped it up on the draws in my bedroom and looked at it a lot, need to buy some forks and a headset. i really dont want to put the current cranks i have on it, or the current wheels for that matter, but untill christmas/january i wont have enough money for anything particularly expensive, need to decide on a set of rims that are machined and will look/feel good with 32/35s on them in black.

I was tempted to go for the same one, I live just by New Cross as well. Not quick enough though! :)it was up for 5 months you must be pretty slow ;) haha i made a pretty quick decision to completely change my bike, Phil721 came round to have a look and told me it was "way too sensible" earlier :(

you're probably imagining things + camera angle, have the pomps ever been 135mm?
if youre still on the look for one im sure i saw some on ebay when i was initially toying with the idea of getting one!

Well I only found out about the white frame in the sales threads from your posts on this thread :)
Yes - there are some on ebay from planet X, I think...
On one are out of the large frames... but tbh I'm not sure which size I should go for, I am about 176-178 cm tall, and the inside leg measures about 81cm...
Yes - I'm pretty sure that I saw a thread somewhere that stated that the pompinos have had 135mm in the past and on-one seems to have settled on 120mm as of late

On-one seems to be out of stock of large in all colours.
They also have rather small stock in most sizes.
Is it just a temporary thing, are they going to keep making pompinos?they're getting restocked in Mid December, with the new Pompinos, new colours and geo.

I wonder if the current pompinos are going to be reduced in price? Wouldn't mind a medium blue pompino for less than £140...

They were 135mm for a while, I think they started off as 120mm, then went to 135mm then switched back to 120mm when the pompetamine appeared?
I think the 135mm tie-in came from it being very similar to the inbred?

You might be able to use clamp on canti bosses on those forks.
is this a good idea? opinions that ive seen on it usually seem a bit torn between "yeah its fine" and "DEFINITELY DO NOT ELSE YOU WILL DIE"
i may just have some brazed on eventually once i start running it singlespeed

200 mm steerer tube on the fork I haz on offer.
-
• #3122
People use them at polo a fair bit, just check the diameter of the fork legs first.

Is anyone here interested in buying my Versa 8 levers
The alfine bike is now on a riser bar because there's a child's seat on the back of it, and realistically it'll never be used again for touring.
The levers are in really good condition, they were criminally under used.
Let me know if there's any interest, otherwise it's off to the bay with them.

They'll work with an eight speed Alfine or Nexus.

Clamp on v brake adaptors are fine. I have mine for about 8 months now, no problem with them and there are quite a few other polo players who runs them too.
The adaptors are designed for 31.8mm (1 1/4") forks blades but you can easily shim them to fit 28.6mm (1 1/8") ones.
You might be able to use clamp on canti bosses on those forks.

They've got a new model coming soon ain't they?
