  • When the mud&slush trails appears soon, you'll enjoy the 2:1 ratio, because you need to remain seated to get any traction on the rears - out of saddle megawatts is not an option.

  • Should work fine with these:

    ?

Should do, assuming they're standard road pull. I'm running mine with SRAM S500s

  • Got a new fork and front rack;

    few more shots

  • ^Fan!

  • ^ big fan, thats kinda what I'm trying to build but fixed gear with a pompino.

    what rack is that?

    thanks mates

    It's a bit modified steco.

  • what modifications did you make?

I was looking at getting a TCB rack but yours looks much cheaper and pretty sturdy.

  • Looks pretty similar to the Basil racks, I chopped the back of mine down a bit so it was similar shape to makko's. I've probably posted a pic in this thread.

Yep, and i was gonna get a basil first but got this cheaply from a friend so couldn't resist :). Chopped the back and shaved the bits that goes to axle so now i can remove the rack with less hassle.

It seems sturdy but on the other hand it weights a ton since its made from steel, but i'm happy so far.

  • It looks real good man.

  • I have a brand new All City nature boy fork, in black for sale. £90 - which is £20 less than I paid 2 weeks ago!

They look awesome on pomps, so thought somebody might fancy them

  • thedopestghost, I've got one of those racks taking up space in my flat. I'll PM you.

  • This is mine.
Still need to change the bars & levers, get mudguards & either a front or rear bag.
Forks came via the forum and are so much better than the stock.

  • Picked up a second hand Pompino recently... in a bit of a bad state:

Not sure if I should clean it up or not... Will be used for commuting and locked up outside for most of the day, so the worse looking the better probably...

  • Pomps are quite at home being grubby, but it pains me to see a HB-7600 in that condition. :(

  • And already looking at some upgrades for it... is the Kinesis alloy cx fork a nice and worth while upgrade? Found a brand new one for 50£

  • I think a Nature Boy fork would look the business.

  • Nah, Kona P2 are nicer :D

  • I think a Nature Boy fork would look the business.

I looked those up. They are as heavy as the stock pompino forks...

  • Are alloy forks better or worse than steel and carbon forks regarding ride comfort?

  • I'd guess at worse.

  • I must admit to having some stock Cube alloy forks on mine and all is well with comfort, possible due to larger volume tyres, a forgiving frame and 25.4 dia bars?

  • Are alloy forks better or worse than steel and carbon forks regarding ride comfort?

Worse. Soz. I'd go carbon or steel on a Pomp

The NB forks are heavy, not two ways about it. But they look really great on a pomp and work with at the headtube junction.

  • Oh and yes I do have some available at an incredibly reasonable price!

    ;)

  • Would the weight saving not be a major factor in considering different forks though? The kinesis alloy ones are 330g* lighter than stock pompino or the nature boys.
