  • I'd get the pompetamine and go disc

  • mind you, I would say that, because I did

  • I'd go disc as well but purely for the reason that I didn't and I'd like to try disc brakes.

Not that cantis are bad or anything...

Colour wise I'm going to coat my pomp either Kawasaki green, flame red or lemon yellow when it needs a respray. I was going to go for German military green at one point. I'll probably change my mind by then anyway.

  • I'm opposed to discs, for some reason. Not sure why really!

  • An alternative would be to go for a grey colour, a la:

    ...which I have long admired.

Another alternative would be to match a white frame with a sparkly brown fork, and would probably look terrible. So a powder coat is on the cards, but which colour?

  • That grey pomp is still the nicesdt I've ever seen.

  • Does the 2012 Pompino come with that cantilever cable hanger on the rear seatstay? It isn't pictured on their site but i'm not sure it was in previous years either.

My XL frame came with one. Though I asked before hand and On-One told me it would come without, so I ordered mini-Vs... ah well.

  • Looks great. Boring question...what light is that?

(Nodder alert) At the front there's a Lezyne Macro and a little Bookman with an elastic strap, the rear is a Moon Comet. All highly recommended.

Same, I looked on Ebay after seeing that and stumbled across the f&f for mine. Awesome build. Whose is it?

Feared this would be the case. Guess there's always the blow torch. Now to find an XL.

  • Don't they all have the cable hanger except the small?

  • Don't they all have the cable hanger except the ones made on Fridays?

    ftfy

  • Doh. My bad

  • Just built up another pomp, pics to come. Rear triangle on the previous one is bent. I guess after 2 years or so of polo it's not bad. Will see whether it will straighten out via coldsetting and build it as my commuter.

  • This is it so far, I just need a silver stem, preferably around 50-80mm, a rear v brake and lever and some silver pedals, get in touch if you've got anything you would be interested in selling

  • dem bars!?!?

  • noooo, definitely not those bars. Got some silver northroad /town style bars and changing the stem for a silver one. Also looking for a cheap 17t singlespeed freewheel if anyones got one knocking about.

and if anyones interested in some raleigh feat. itm drop bars and that black stem and translucent cinelli bar tape, they're yours for £12...

  • CRITICISM
    Slack chain
    Horrible cockpit
    Fugly saddle

    NOT CRITICISM
    You're changing the cockpit
    The saddle's probably comfy
    Mudguards
Humans have developed chain de-slackening techniques

  • I'm building it for the girlfriend and so comfort is a key concern. The chain will be de-slackened.

  • Now explain the carpet.

  • eh?

  • I live in grade 1 listed, Elizabethan manor, the carpet is a period peice

  • (it came with the council flat)

  • Old:

    New:

  • Continuing the theme of beautifully decorated interiors there with a bird-of-paradise-embossed foil wallpaper.
