  • Just finished building up my pomp, Managed to build it out of just old parts in the garage (except the brake levers) rode it through deep mud all weekend on 40-18 fixed, Swapped it over to 40-19 freewheel for a ride and this photo... Ace frame though and a bargain I think!

  • whats the wheelset?

  • Just the cheapy On-one / planet X AL30's, Rubbish spoke tension out the box and I've already replaced all the bearings after some flooded rides!

  • looks boss, thats a medium frame?

  • small actually, I am a Homunculus

  • That looks excellent, Jet.

  • Looks great. I love the white and yellow decals.

  • Thats funny, I can't stand it! I'm stripping it down in the next few weeks and taking it to the powdercoaters.
It's going to be my stand in / proper muddy course 2nd cross bike for the winter season, so I'd prefer it in something bright...

  • really? i think it looks awesome!

  • I should really do what Jet has done. My pomp deserves more than risers...

  • Looking at it in the photo's i've really started to hate that white and the yellowy green especially, I've just stripped it down and It's going to the powdercoaters in the morning...

  • boy u crazy!

  • Mine's getting bead-blasted soon too. The decals look horrible in the flesh and they're lacquered in. Annoying as fuck, but hey it was cheeeeeep!

  • On One should just use the Yorkshire rose on HT and ST and be done. The more graphics they put on their bike the worse they look.

  • you could also just have some decals made to cover the logos if you can't be bothered with stripping and painting. I'm very pleased with mine, yorkshire rose and all.

    I really like this.

I'm trying to convince myself that I don't need another bike, let alone a SSCX bike...

  • great looking bike ... even with decals.Black colour makes it look so aggressive. What is the fork in front?

  • the decals are great you fools

  • Forks look like Columbus Tusks.
That bike does look good, the smaller frames really seem to suit the white.

  • The Forks are Columbus Tusks, With a tektro canti hanger bolted to the front.

I really can't stand the decals, or the white, so I'm dropping it off to the powdercoaters in the morning for a thorough coating of RAL4010, perhaps with some glitter, but i'll see what they can do!

  • I think everyone needs a CX bike, just in case- it's the Swiss Army knife of the bike world.

As we enter the second day of this, our beautiful Spring of 2013 I think it's very helpful to have a bike with knobbly tyres to deal with all the fucking snow.

  • I think everyone needs an SSCX bike, just in case- it's the new Fixie, innit.

    ftfy

  • on 07.04 there will be CX event here,so I will finally have an opportunity to test my SSCX pompino against other bikes ( mainly MTB ) in mud, snow and ice. I hope that 39/18 gearing will allow me to spin those nasty uphills ) Are Your Pompinos bunny hop-able ? )

  • Yeah, I can hop my Pompetamine about a foot, fixed, with full mudguards.

  • I can't hop for shit. no matter what bike I'm on. I can't wheelie either. fml
