yorkshire!!
As a couple of people on this thread know, I rode from London to Edinburgh last week (we were told that it was 466 miles but turned out to be 475 miles) and went through Yorkshire, cutting through North York Moors. You guys are in riding heaven over there! What a fantastic area to cycle.

So what pump to take?
Do you have to deflate the tyres on planes?
Naturally I'll need a vintage frame pump for the ride, but I'll need something to get a decent pressure beforehand, are there any hand-pumps which supply decent pressures? Or should I take some CO2 canisters (are you allowed those on planes?!)

deflating the tyres before transporting your bike on the plane is not necessary. I suspect there will be an opportunity to pressure up before the ride, but the eroica veterans should be able to make that a definite yes (or no)...

BTW, if any of you happen to be near Antwerp, there is this crazy (I mean it in the nicest way) retired robotics engineer who has been collecting and trading NOS bike parts out of his garage for the last 45 years as a hobby. Massive stock. He is in Ranst. If anyone wants details, then PM me. It's not a business so he does not have a web site; you'll need to book an appointment and visit him.

Tom, I'm off work the Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday... need to be back in Leeds for evening shift on the Monday...
..is this a sign? I've got the bike for it http://www.lfgss.com/picture.php?albumid=786&pictureid=11261
would I be able to crash in your hotel? of course would happily split costs.
as for the event, says 100 entries at €100 each from 9am.
what do you think?
also, are you flying to Tuscany?
-
• #295

although one guy i know did offer to drive us in his big van - might have to get in toucht
