It would help if you changed the title of this thread.It's a bit misleading. U.K (not)garage ruined many a decent record shop. I used to enjoy coming up to London and going around the various shops. That is until they started selling this crap. " You need this, you need that". The last thing I needed was this shit in my collection. Put me off going in certain shops, as you knew it would be blasting out the main system.

It was strange how the UK Speed Cabbage DJ's latched on to Todd Edwards. Again, his early stuff was fairly decent US House but then all the London Cabbage DJ's started playing it on +8 cos his stuff had that quirky, skippy sampled vocal sound that was fresh(ish) at the time

It was strange how the UK Speed Cabbage DJ's latched on to Todd Edwards.
Speed Garage was actually good. It's the UK Garage which brought shitty flat sound, complete misunderstanding of harmony and making music in general. Only strong side of UK Garage were vocals. If you're into R&B that is.
