Neil I got a full Ultegra group in full retail packaging for a smidge over £500 plus you'd still have FSA cranks to replace for the SS anyway wouldn't you?
-
• #28
I'd want to keep the FSA/Cannondale cranks that came with the SystemSix, so for any groupset that I am looking at I'd sell on the cranks and BB.
I'm wondering how much I could recoup for cranks+BB on either Red or DA?

if you just buy a group, you'll have one less bike. This is an important factor: n+1 Niel, n+1...

Very true.
I've just been looking at the Planet-X site- cannot find a bike with Sram Red for £1,300, cheapest I can find is £1,499?
-

hmm.. they had it a couple of weeks ago for that much.
You can get it here for £1199, with Red shifters, rear mech, front mech and callipers... but with Rival crankset:
http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/CBPXSLPR/sl-pro-carbon-sram-redStill a ridiculous deal

Full group here for £1399: http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/PBPXPCSRRE/sl-pro-carbon-road-sram-red

£1,399 sounds like a good deal- chainset and cassette are both Red.
Swap that onto the SystemSix and I have the race bike and the training bike.
Shame there is no stock!
-
• #35
oh sorry - i didn't see that. Maybe give them a call - they're normally full of stock

Just get Campag Record for your beater and sell the Shimano to champs... ;-/
ftfy

I am buying a new boiler at the moment- the bike was meant to distract me from the amount that the boiler was costing!
don't buy one-try a bit of charm

I just popped into Evans and cancelled the order.
I'll have a think about getting the 105 version.
I might just get a 2011 Ultegra groupset and chuck that (and maybe some better wheels) on the SystemSix and think about a winter bike when it gets cold again (which may be Monday...)
If I get a new groupset I won't need the BB and chainset- anyone interested in either an Ultegra or Force chainset and BB?

Bunch of scumbags... (ed excluded)

Maaaybee - depending on what chainset my new bike comes with

How's the search going?
-
• #47
Of course- or seriously upgrade the existing bike.
A large part of the attraction of the CAADX was putting the groupset on the road bike.
Now, not so much- after all, what kind of loser has 105 on a carbon fibre Cannondale road bike?
-
• #48
some of can only afford 105, Niel :P
-
• #49
Tongue in cheek Dan, not aimed at you either!

Fuuuuuuuu
Sram Red it is then. Right, time to sell some stuff.
Who wants a cat?
DA groupset cost around £1200... Almost the same price as a full bike with Ultegra
