  • i may only meet you at the start... Stressing here...

  • why?

  • I'm out btw, working.

  • I have a massive paper to write on friday. I have to get through 35 hour by thursday night. So Sunday is the day i can make my life semi normal

  • Up already! Nice bowl of porridge with hemp seed and ground almonds to get me going, mmmmmmmmmmm, see you soon folks :)

  • im up up everything packed. food cooking. now all i need to know is what time you will be rolling through rochester. judging by predictions of 5pm in margate editorsfoot i reckon 10.30-11.00 for the peloton to get over rochester bridge is optimistic...

  • Is anyone taking rain gear? It's beautiful but when we get back to London it will be thundery showers. After the last thunderstorm in only a jersey I think I'm going to tie a jacket to my top tube.

  • ?
How far are you expecting to go on a punctured tube ?

all the way? not sure how slow the puncture is. it's not total flat, as you probably thinking. keeps the air and pressure for a few hours.

  • What, 120km with a group of sixty cyclists of varying ability, unsure of the exact route apart from following the leader, including stopping for lunch, arriving by 2:30?
    Wildly optimistic I think...
I've got my EPO though so I'll be there before the rest of you have even left Greenwich.

ok, i concede. i thought it was 100km and am not expecting 40 to turn up. but you're guess is still probably closer to the mark

  • @jaitch maybe a tad optimitic don't know how fast they will ride so may get a bit later and just wait. Every weather forecast says something different but I'm going on what Kaddy says and packing a rain jacket.

  • Crap, as expected i over slept... Guess that solves that one...

  • Standing on the bridge awaiting the beach peloton....

  • Field Day after party turns out to incompatible with riding 120km.

  • forgetting to buy and put on rim tape the day before doing this today is also not compatable. two punctures in 20 miles saw me bailing just outside faversham...

should have taken the road bike... :-(

  • ^shouldnt have risked riding to the coast with no rim tape...

    prick

  • What a brilliant ride! Thanks to MA3K and co for leading. Personal highlights included spinning down the hills, the fish and chips and the young, local fixie skidder convoy from Herne Bay to Margate. I think one of you said you were on the forum, so big thanks if you're reading this. Train journey back was also entertaining.

  • I agree with amygdala; fabulous ride; great company ; great fish and chips and many thanks to MA3K for organising and leading; my first forum ride and a great introduction
    bob

  • Likewise, really enjoyed it, particularly the bit along the sea front at Seasalter. Glad that everyone made it through the Medway Towns alive. @Jaitch, if you want to go for a Medway ride drop me a PM.

  • Epic ride.

    Make love not hills.

  • Yet another Brill Forum Ride
    Cheers MA3K...
Great company on the ride too... just back after a few Train Connections and a Stop at the Boozer on way home...
Took a few pics will sort them out soon.

  • First forum ride, great time, thanks to immaculate leading and good company. Medium cod and chips?

  • Great first forum ride, thanks to all and especially MA3K ! And the extra 10 miles to margate totally worth it ..

^ All of the above! ^

Absolutely Brilliant fun. Best moments - bike getting a puncture while at the road side (because it felt left out?). Greasy fish and chips & scaring the living crap out of those seagulls.

Best moment of them all though - 12 x train tickets @ a WHOPPING £0 each!

  • Also a ton of photo's to sort out of all you toe-rags, some time tomorrow... if/when I feel alive again :)

  • I must say that was one of the best rides I've been on. Thanks to everyone who gave me moral support when I was finding it tough going. It was also the furthest I've ridden so far. Some of those hills we climbed (or walked in my case), should be wiped off the face of the earth.

Thanks to MA3K for organising this event. The fish and chips at the end of the Herne bay was well worth it. I also want to say thanks to the local fixie skidder group of boys who kindly offered to show us a quick and direct route to margate. Thanks for that. Well appreciated.

Just barely made it in through the front door. Good thing I booked tomorrow off from work.
