It would be good linked to Rollapaluza.
Funny you should say that, we did power Scalextric with the Rollapaluza rigs back in 2008 as a research thing, worked OK, more about regulating speed than effort.....we nearly got to the point of hiring a professional model-maker to create pedalling cyclists to sit on top of existing "chassis".....oh well, what might've been!

This idea I like. Have you ever linked the rigs up to some sort of computer simulation so you can run sprint races or other track disciplines?
One of the problems with the Scalextric is that regulating speed in order to stop the vehicle flying off at the curves doesn't really have that much to do with track cycling.

They had such a set up at ECMC 2009 in Berlin - not just a circular track but a great big twisting track with no inside lane advantage. Made the rollers a hell of a lot of fun. Until I was sick.

^ that's not a velodrome. And who cares about the kids?
Thank you Sherlock...
My point being that it has a piece of track for the two racers to switch lanes hence providing equal race distance and layout for both. I'm fairly sure the folks who are building it will care about the kids as they will make up the vast majority of sales.

They should've got TCR to do it; lane-changing would make it so much better;

TCR looks amazing! Why the hell did scalectrix get so popular with that around?

Yeah, I think on the corners the centrifugal force instantly pushed you onto the outside lane. Nice concept though.

Scaletricks cars are realistic with attention to detail. Y the crappy looks of these bikes and riders?

It's clearly not an accurate representation since there's no Aussie jerseys in front of those blue and red ones..
