Wow this thread is harsh! I was born in Selly Oak, And admitedly spent 8 years of my life living in Europe and the Middle East vowing never to come home.
But here I am! And you know what its not so bad!
Yeah some parts are kinda shitty and in some respects its a culture vacum, But as far as I can see after meeting some of the people on this forum it can only get much better.
Birmingham... Its NOT shit!
We have some beautiful architecture hidden away, A good music scene, Some excellent pubs... And Forum26. -

No one has really mentioned Brooks yet, making saddles in the city since 1866.
I own two Brooks saddles, but strangely I keep having to remind myself that they're made in Smethwick. I don't immediately asscoiate them as being from Brum.
Is it the cities fault for not celebrating one of their major manufacturing success stories ? How many other manufacturers are left in the city that started nearly 150 years ago ? Certainly no bike ones.
Brooks used to be on Great Charles Street in town
i should not actually say sweet fa as i am, to be fair, a Londoner...but..its totally a different lingo you guys speak. I work in Tipton btw =)
