I'd need to check but should be ok, it's brand new.

Just updating.
After about 2000 Km on Campagnolo Ergos + HyRD I am very happy. I got used almost immediately to the longer lever throw and never looked back. Great modulation, good power, good feel and the excellent self adjustment make it a great upgrade over standard mechanicals -

From that thread it appears they were not great for actual braking but fine for weenies who like light parts.

look cool though don't they
perhaps they didn't get them " up to temperature " ( as they say in F1 ) i.e. not glowing

If a carbon disc needs to be that hot to work properly then I'd argue it's not a fit material for making bicycle rotors from.

Was struggling to get my front m755 4pot bedded so took it off a week or so ago and replaced with a BB7 for time being.
Got time to have a look at the m755 today and turns out the caliper is weeping where the two halves join. :(
As I understand, Shimano don't do (and never have done) caliper service kits so finding a legit m755 seal is not going to happen, I wonder though if there'd be something I could get to do the job or infact if Shimano would have just used something readily available rather than design their own little rubber seal?
Also wondering if a modern Shimano caliper might have a seal that I could steal and use, there's any number of models of Shimano calipers on CRC for under £20 which I'd happily pay to keep the 4pot running.
I presume that there'd be no point in trying to measure the current seals as they'll likely be swollen and or corroded from use?

I was all set to buy a new caliper and graft it onto the front of my current m755 setup but have realised that the front brake is running the bit of Goodridge hose that is previously used on a Hope.
I flushed the hose out with plenty of brake cleaner so I'm pretty convinced that I'd have gotten rid of all the dog fluid but now there's s lingering suspicion that a tiny bit of dot got in and has fuxxored the seal and that a similar fate awaits any other caliper I use with this lever and hose.
Am I being paranoid?

Buy some new SLX or a zee.

Or...
Bought one of these last night for £25 and combined with the rear xt 4pot it'll bring the total number of pistons on the bike up to a nice round 10!

bike24 seems to be the best place for Magura bits but is there a cheap UK dealer I could call upon?

Buy Shimano from bikediscount.de

Doubt it. I've seen the distributor pricing...
What do you need?

RT8 cable cutting so olives and maybe fluid. Not sure if those spike things are needed. I have some Royal Blood from bleeding my discs but might need more.

RT8 cable cutting
Oh. Looks like fun. It's possible, although not best practice, to re-use all the existing hardware.
Personally I wouldn't tho.

You can't reuse olives can you? Their whole point is to deform to provide the seal.
Anyway, found a Magura kit at CRC for a little more than the Germans and ordered that.

It's possible but really difficult and usually doesn't work well. If you're stuck somewhere and need to it can be a temporary solution though.

It's time to replace the pads in my BB7s, will probably stick with sintered, is there much of a difference between brands?
