This is quite a nice view of it.

I tried to ride up canobie road a wee while ago. Managed to stay on the bike but I drew a really mad zigzag all the way up.

I remember that fecker from the South London hills ride. Well it didn't defeat me then and it's not going to on Sunday!

Skully is it too late to take Sumo's place?

I really want to come ride this but there isn't any room left, what do people think about riding any way?
I'm guessing some people won't turn up?

I'm riding to Bournemouth on the Saturday and had planned to do the Rapha Cobbles Thingy on the same day as this ride, but I fear that particular weekend combination may actually kill me.

So....

^this. I put my name down for the rapha cobbles with the plan of running middle aged rapha types into the ground for giggles. Won't be able to do this post bmth, so a london classic pootle instead (also signed up for) :)

If you were thinking of rocking up and riding...

We are not professional events organisers, we're not looking to make a career out of this, we are bike riding folk like you with real jobs and bills to pay putting in our own time trying to make a good day out on the bike and a few quid to charity into the bargain. We've had to decide on a number we think is manageable and one thats not going to incur the wrath of the public at large or cops. We also want to make life pleasant in the pub afterwards and on the ride itself. Its nice being a victim of your own success but in we're acutely aware it could all go wrong...so please pretty please if the cobblemonster contacts you this week and says you can have a place of a rider thats dropped out all good; if not then we hope to see you next year.

I think it's important not to ruin these things... look at the hassle the tweed run guys get..

Doing it fixed. Definitely done most of the hills I suspect to be in it fixed, so why not.

damo, i'm in and will be riding fixed.
however bringing my wife and my old man along for a pootle round the city so might be a more gentle pace my way.

I'll make some investigations about start times today....
