  • I find wood fine to stretch with.

  • Sadly having to get ear reconstruction done tomorrow :(

It's impacting my career and stopping me getting jobs. Originally stretched to 12mm but now they're only 6/8mm holes but its still an issue. Really sucks I'd love to wear them let alone have to pay £600 to be sliced and stitched together again.

  • how long have you left them out for? 12mm is not that big.. would have thought they'd shrink more

  • I had my ears stretched to 24mm (I think...) until a couple of years ago and the left has more r cleans closed up and the right ear is a couple of mm. I guess some people are stretchier than others.

  • The problem is I didn't stretch them down slowly I just took them out about 4 years ago.

  • Done.

Quentin at Kalima (in Worthing) was a really good guy totally put me at ease. Hes been in the piercing and body mod business for years. Would totally recommend the studio really professional and friendly bunch.

Not too painful, lidocaine is a wonderful substance. Very bloody though. Apparently I'm a bleeder. Just a bit tender now. The cold isn't helpful. I've been fine about not wearing them for years but now they're gone I'm more annoyed about the fact I've had to get them stitched.

  • I just took mine out too! Got fed up of it one day, ha ha. How long did you take to stretch them up? I did mine pretty gradually, at least 2-3 weeks per mm.

  • The left one I did slowly as I was traveling for some of the time. I stayed at 8 for a few months. Went to ten for a good while too. The right I did quicker I think I went 2 mm a month. Just had a really hot shower, used a taper to go up a bit, leave it over night have another really hot shower and then push it the rest of the way through. I never really understood why anyone would go to a piercer to have it stretched cold.

I think I'm going to get my right nipple re done again soon. It grew out years ago so I just have the left one (stretched to 4mm). I don't like the lack of symmetry.

  • Hope your ears heal quick magpie, im actually planning to hit up Quentin in a month or so once it gets a bit warmer to get my left ear scalpelled to match my right, currently its only the cold stopping me.

  • ^ thanks. Healing is such a boing process isn't it. Even worse when you don't end up with anything fun at the end of it.

  • Indeed it is, and its been a very long time since I've had to heal anything other than a stretch which is pretty much why Im waiting for the weather.

As a cyclist, cold winds and open wounds = rubbishness

  • where's good to have ears sewn up?

  • Done.

    .

  • at home with a sewing kit, bottle of gin and a bottle of dettol.

  • If you dont want to travel, Iestyn at Divine Canvas could probably sort you out, also I think Sammpa is in town at the moment...

  • As above. Quentin was one of the first guys to do ear reconstruction in this country. He's done a lot of them. He says its almost what keeps the shop going as he does one most weekends.

My stitches come out on Friday.

  • RIP Shannon Larratt.

  • Thought I would post in this thread and say hello I haven't been on the forum very much but I'm a bike mechanic, with 44mm stretched ears, 10mm septum and some other stretched piercings! Got some new plugs for my ears last week and riding down Clapham Rd in strong wind and one slipped out and cracked :(
had to do a quick stop and walk back looking for it!

Also recently got BIKE PUNX tattooed on the inside of my knuckles (although i guess thats for the tattoo thread)

anyway hello other modded bike people!

  • Just saw some of Iestyn Flye's latest work scroll by on FB. Anyone on here?

  • that shit is grim

  • Yeah, scarification is stupid. It'd be one thing if it looked good, but I've never seen a decent one.

  • PS anyone else looking to get their plugs sewn up could do much worse than Jayne Doe in Hornchurch - mine cost me £250 and was painless. Dude knows his onions.

  • Yeah, scarification is stupid. It'd be one thing if it looked good, but I've never seen a decent one.

The very first example I saw, think it might be in the early pages in this thread. Of a girl with huge anchors on her legs. Thought that looked kinda dope. Go big or go home kinda thing.

I think there is a good scope for textural and pattern based stuff for scarification too.

  • I've seen some scarification that I really thought was good. The thought of going through it myself, otoh, makes me feel faint.

  • Quentin is awesome been there a few times now.
