I just ordered 1" stone plugs for my ears to match my 8mm crystal quartz labret. Can't wait for them to arrive!

Im Guessing you ordered from body art forms? Have you had to pay customs with them, Never got charged when I was working in NZ, lemme know the outcome!

And although I doubt the guy with the facial scarfication did it to "appericate himself in the mirror" too, I just know some people do feel more complete when they do certain modifications to themselves. It's hard to explain. :)

Second point. Other people have to look at this mutilation more than the person who has had it done to them. It's all a bit 'Ooh look at me, I'm interesting', yet without the hassle of actually being anything other than self-obsessed.

The best modification for some of those examples would be decapitation...

It's weird with BAF! Boyf got me something from there which was like $80+ and he didn't get stung on customs, but I have once or twice in the past. I'm expecting to pay for it, if there was definitely good stone or glass makers I'd definitely order UK based. But Wildcat's jewellery tends to be shite.

Self obsessed can be used in any context to be honest, to how you "groom" yourself, to how you "dress" yourself and so on etc.

Wildcat used to be really good - but they started outsourcing to the far east to keep their prices competitive (same goes with coldsteel..)

Maybe not, but it depends on what mindset you're in, if you're doing something to your body with intention of causing yourself harm and detract from your body's ability to function that that is mutilation, when you do something to your own body to enhance it to where you find it more aesthetically, physically or sexually pleasing, that is modification. And the end of the day, it is down to the opinion of the individual and nobody should be able to judge.
