Well, I'm fairly sure it's the weekend, but I'll ask Samson

Just seen the Time Trial world champ is going to be on the 21st (the Wednesday), and the Road Race is on the 25th (the Sunday), so I'm hoping I'll get to see those around the polo.

Ok, just had confirmation from Samson on the tournament.
It's going to be a single player tourney, similar to the one in Frankfurt, so every game will be played with a random team, and the player with the best record will win.
There will be games from Wednesday 21st September, the tournament will be on Saturday 24th - Sunday 25th.
Samson has said they are trying to sort out housing, as most hostels are sold out due to the Road Racing Champs.
Registration details will follow soon.
I'm going to get there for Wednesday morning, maybe fly our Tuesday evening, and stay until Sunday night/early Monday morning.

Isn't that just for a fun tournement early in the week? I think there is a traditional team based tournement towards the end also.
-
• #31
Nope, I've just talked to the organiser.
-
• #32
Shame. I thought it was going to be 3 different tournaments (individual, bench minor and regular).
-
• #33
I think I'll go to this.
-
• #34
So if you can only go on the Friday for the w/e - would you be able to play in the tournament ie. the games from Wednesday through Friday are not part of the Individual tourney?
-
• #35
That's correct Neil, it's just casual games Wednesday - Friday. Maybe they'll due something more organised on those days, but the main tournament is Saturday & Sunday only.
i'm just going earlier because it's my favourite city, and I'd love to see the road world champs.

Anyone else going to come?

Fuck college....
Seriously though, education is very important, you can play polo later.
Seriously though, come to Copenhagen

single player shuffle tourney, starting to not sounds as appealing as a normal team tourney......
-
• #48
Yeah, I've not tried the format, so I'm interested to see what it's like (and bring it back here, if it's good).
I think it will have some serious disadvantages around team play.

Samson just asked me to say that there are still quite a few spaces available.
A fairly cheap flight there, free housing, an amazing city, 4 days of polo, let's get more of a UK group out there...

Maybe it's a good idea to make this topic a sticky? Gives it a little more attention.
Polo Erectus are trying to make this our grand finale tourney - as we lose Alex (aka 'der Penetrator') to his German fatherland in September... When will we know dates of the actual polo tourney??
