  • anyone know the best place to buy big packs of duracells (aa & aaa) in central for cheap?

I cant be arsed with rechargeables and am happy to factor in the cost of replacing my lights batteries as part of my monthly running costs for the bike but I always feel like I'm being bent over when I buy them from shops compared to how much they cost online.

  • Argos are quite cheap i think?

I used to know a really good online shop for batteries, I'll try and find it again.

  • posting links is fine.

  • rechargeable lights are a bad idea, what happens when they run out?

    Recharge them?

  • while cycling?

  • dynamo's

  • On the rear I have a Knog Gekko, along with two dual LED's set to flash on the rear or my cycle helmet.

I have wondered what effect having lights attached to your helmet has on its performance; and the warranty.

well, if your light have a little indicator that show you how long you got left on your light, then you won't have to worry about the light going off while heading home.

also, some light dimmed when the battery is nearly empty, so that's another way of knowing when to charge it.

the exposure light I have and it's flare rear light does that, so I never get caught out.

  • dynamo's

    Dynamo's what? BIN

  • erm..........don't need batteries

  • You mean 'dynamo's design doesn't need batteries'.

Maplin - cheap as chips for big packets.

  • Or something.

  • Or, like, whatever and shit.

  • I can't believe anyone doesn't use rechargeables nowadays, what with their high capacity, and the option of hybrid versions.

  • even i do, that's 'cos i'm hard on my batteries too :)

  • one charge on my usb lights is a good 4 and a half hours. probably no good if you're doing a he-man ride, more than adequate for commuting, which i presume is what we're talking here.

  • I treat my batteries like little bastards!

which lights? I'm impressed with the power of the blackburn fleas, but everything else has been disappointing.
