  • Yeah I'll do it before Sunday so we can compare.

Right, I've been working on some tournament stuff today. It would be helpful if we could figure out a rough date. I was thinking June but when I mentioned it Brighton said they'd like the second weekend (9-10th) so we could do the 30th June/1st July? Three weeks between and a helpful payday just before. I'm keen to avoid July and August for obvious reasons and a summer tourney with our weather/courts would be good!

This is what the possible NS looks like so far:
May - Cambridge (requested pre-June since losing the space)
    9-10th June - Brighton
July - Euros (also the Olympic shit-storm)
    August - Worlds/London Open
    September/October - Manchester

    With other polo dates here:

  • June would be good, I think. Anything else going on around then which would cause problems? Our central location should mean we can attract a wide variety of scenes, and two big courts should be a decent draw.

Just built up my Asim/Perros mallet - 260g, my lightest yet.

  • Lets hope its more accurate....

  • I'm helping with Idea Birmingham on the 15th-22nd June, so the 16th-17th (which sounds like the weekend Brighton want) will be not good for me. but the weekend after 23rd-24th will be good.

  • 30th june-1st July would also be good as olympic fever won't hit til mid July

  • Lets hope its more accurate....

  • I'll bring my camera along on Sunday to try and get a photo for the new flyer, so make sure y'all lookin' ya bestest

  • Are you going to start shooting stuff for our video? It would be awesome if we could get that out there to promote our spring beginners session.

  • yeah sure, i'll bring the tripod

  • If we take some pics of the bikes i'll do some bike check writing for the blog too.

  • I'll ask if I can borrow the scales from work. It would be fun to weigh everyone's bikes/mallets if you're doing bike-checks anyway.

  • ^^ likewise. I'll do something on why there will be a fixed polo renaissance

  • I think the film should be shot like a spoof.

  • I think the film should be shot like a poof.

well that's why you're doing it, silly

  • i don't think people will get it if its a spoof.

  • Yeah - experienced people would get it, but it would confuse the people we're aiming at. No reason not to do another video like that though.

  • will it not be too cheesy as a promotional video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJBMInCf5nc

  • Something like this looks better http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Bj7Atvo4FY

  • It probably doesn't have to be that cheesy, but we're trying to explain the sport to people in Birmingham who haven't played/don't know anything about it.

  • Plenty of action in the second one, but I think we need talking to explain the basics/show who we are. Highgate is good, as you can get up high (ish) to shoot from an angle which shows the game better. Having team kits would definitely help, too.

  • shall we bring our lunch club tees on Sunday then?

  • Are they black? Me, Hyper, Lucas could bring Stabbath ones... (white).

  • no they is greyz

  • Perhaps if everyone brings a few t-shirts in primary colours?
