  • ^Nice!!!

  • Good work. Birmingham polo has never looked so stylish.

  • Theres 2 adjacent Courts in Edgbaston, just off the Hagley Road, look like no gaps either, well, from a fleeting glance. Not far from 5 Ways Island, did not stop to check them out, was mid filter.

  • WiLL THE RAiN JUST FUCK OFF, i'M iTCHiNG TO PLAY POLO!!!!!

  • lower case eyes

  • Just woke up and no rain now. If it stays this way, the court may even be dry.

  • lower case eyes let you shout mayn

  • First team game today,

    Micro Pigs 3 - Drill Collins 3

I thought the quality and evenhandedness(?) was promising for future team games. James is going to be really good when if/when he gets his own bike. Needs to practice goaltending though. Fin was doing some lovely early passes, too.

  • oink oink

  • iLL PiGGSS

  • Pigs in blankets.

    Whilst dancing stupidly to this.

  • ^ I find them irrepressably scary!!

Just woke up from post polo nap...mmmm achey. I am seriously considering knee/elbow pads!

  • Me too (the pads not the nap). If we had some futuristic stat-keeping machine, I think Neil would be no1 mallet-under-wheel practitioner, with an 18% voluntary double-tap ratio.

Still loving the clipless polo though - seems like double acceleration and way more wheelie-goal opportunites.

Ha - teams means better piss-taking.

Tempted to try it in a few weeks or straps at least. My feet really don't want to stay on my pedals!

  • Hi guys....just got sent the minutes of Digbeth Residents meeting (I will soon be a working resident). Bike Polo is mentioned as a good excuse to go use highgate park and spectate, even a link to the tourney in there! be aware lots of people will be reading the blog!

I'm also in talks with the community centre manager at the moment to do an official kids polo session as its a bit iffy just playing with the kids on the court....if one of them got hurt, etc we'd be in the shit.

Hmmm....does this mean I should be double tapping more? Is arm ok? Most of the time people cycle over my mallet anyway, I do it to myself enough times...

  • Arm's fine - I was only joking!

If you put your mallet under someone else's wheel, and they foot-down or fall off, it's good manners to double tap. It's really easy to do, and obviously not intentional, but you still shouldn't benefit from it.

So that's where all the readership spikes come from! I haven't put anything of any consequence on lately, but as soon as our tardy team comes up with a name, I'll write something about our new teams.

How can they think of a name whilst harrassing skateboarders?

Cool. Duly noted. Should I do this when someone T-Bones me/I T-Bone someone too? I have a habit of locking my rear wheel and skidding into someone thats stopped dead in front of me (usually Dan LJ or Stu). Should I double tap then too?
