Anyone interested in these - I bought them a couple of years ago but have only worn them 3 or so times. Charles tyrwhitt, size 8 but they fit big. I think nearer a 9.
Collection in SW14 or I’m happy to post or meet in town

Woly and Saphir shoe cremes are much better for your shoes though and doesn't dry the leather out like Kiwi.

are these comfortable? I'm always sceptical that I would be able to do a day wandering around in a fancy leather shoe.

I’ve got the suede version of those Clark’s, were really comfortable straight out of the box with no breaking in period at all (I’d suspected there might be a bit at the start but nope, none)

Saphir smells so good it makes me hungry.

thats the almond oil and avocado.
does it taste good too?.. -

Breaking in required. I always do with new leathers. Gently persuade the shoe to take up the shape of my foot. Like a Brooks saddle! Once 'fitted' comfort is unparalleled and a day in these is easy.

How do John White rate quality wise against the other big names?

John White
I got some tan full brouges about 20 years ago, so not sure of the companies position at the time. It was a TK max purchase in that there London before we had a store in Leeds. They have been resoled twice in leather and are now in Dainite mode. They have held up very well and are probably my comfiest and amongst my oldest shoe.

If you call up Dychurch in Northampton the guy there will help you out (he is a talker be warned).

Am I reading right that John White shoes are made in the far east?

I had some John White brogues from TK Maxx 5 years or so back. Were never comfortable and had nails coming up through the footbed. Tried to get them fixed a couple of times without success so have them up as a bad job (upside was that they were cheap although I’ve had cheaper shoes that were fine).
Thank you!
