I'd second for Meermin. Could also try the factory shops up in Northampton (and stop by YBR for a brew).

Don't really have time to go to Northampton. I guess you can't buy from the factory shop over the phone?
Will email Meermin to see if they are re stocking soon.

Some more trickers on TK Maxx - most are a bit odd but a few ok options, also more Cheaney's. Online is almost all small sizes but usually means you can find some of them in the Charing cross rd store

Loake are a pretty safe bet.
Plenty of places to try them on.
There's a place that sells the Indian made ones cheap next to here:
TIFINBOX - Indian Street Food
14 Harrow Pl, London E1 7DB

If Liverpool Street is near.

Thanks.
I found some factory second (minor blemish) Herring Charles 2 in my size (alfred sargent), so I ordered them and will see if blemish is ok. If not I'll order a pair of their cheaper mayfair version.
Needed them for job interview next week, but want nice shoes as will wear for my wedding.

I have some very nice YMC tan leather shoes that aren't getting worn if anyone is interested?
I would call them an accurate 9/43 and they've been worn so sole has marks but as you an see from pics you can't tell from the upper - they've maybe been worn 5 times.
i think they cost £200+ but happy to sell for £45 shipped to lfgss peeps

Agree Meermin fit a bit tight compared to UK shoemakers.

Given the curved nature of the end of an oxford shoe, how does one know if it's too long? As I assume a good fitting shoe will have space at the end.
Edit: Called herring who said they fit perfect, based on 25mm between toe and end.

Very pleased with my Red Wing chukkas, surprising comfortable with the rubber sole and haven't really needed a breaking in period. Only time will tell if they're value for money.
@MetalMelly whoaa nice find, reminds me of when a load of Rapha turned up in a local charity shop I wondered who'd been caught cheating on their wife...

Was wearing my chocblood Loake derby's today (mid tan polished with burgundy). Possibly out-polished everyone in the department. Much reflect.

Got my Cairngorms back from Cheaney and much to my dismay, 10 1/2 remains too big for my size 9 1/2 - 10 feet. Any interest?
They've been fully refurbed so are basically good as new. After £250

Tempted.
I'm 9.5 in Barkers but 10 in some other brands. Just don't want to end up with a pair of shoes that I can't wear cos too small.
Where are they located?
Charity shop, Wood Green, £8. Properly patina'd and with a new pair of quality insoles, they are now my go to footwear. If they were yours, thanks. Cheers Mel
