continuous flow of leather is what you pay big bucks for at berluti.
that product; if it prevents the leather breathing, i think that most show makers would say its bad. just guessing you understand.
I thank you!

Tony Slinger; Not too shabby. I like the quality, but couldn't copy the images of the styles I actually liked.

Since when? Last 24 hours. I posted them before as a cheap, but well made alternative to some posh wank only to be ignored :-)
Style>Snobism. I think fellow members like moog and other who defend overpriced clobber, are mistaking snobism for style..

I wasn't making a fuckin' point, just stating a fact! Keep seeing them everywhere. Nice though I s'pose, though not keen on the front end of the moccasin toe ones... bleurgh.
-
• #587
Balki, do they come in brown?
SP, that moccasin front is bit special, but it's nice when you want to tone it down. Just look like a bloke wearing boots with jeans or cords and an anorak.
That doesn't sound good after all..ps. The snobism bit wasn't directed specifically at you. Just, you know, in general. Depends what's your stand on few grand worth of a shoe.

I have no problem with cheaper brands and almost exclusively wear Uniqlo but I also don't have an issue with brands who charge astronomical prices. Not once have I slagged off low end/good value brands. I buy things because I like them, if they cost £20 sweet, if they cost £120 then it just means I'll have to save a bit longer.
If you want to pay £10330583394 for something then do it, if you don't then don't I just don't see why people get worked up about shit when they can easily ignore it if they wish. Getting angry at other peoples decisions which have no effect on you is pointless.

Just got my shoes back from being reheeled and they have made a total fucking pig's ear of them! Absolute shite. They've used a brown sealant paint all around the (previously very dark brown, almost black 'natural' finish) sole unit, which looks terrible, and there are fuck off gashes on the backs where the blakeys meet the rubber. Apparently it's not possible for the two parts to meet flush. As if. Pathetic cunts.
I'd have had them sort them out if I thought they had the wherewithal to fix the problem. Instead, I'll take them somewhere proper and hope they'll do a better job. Does anyone know of DECENT, REPUTABLE cobbler in the Clerkenwell area?
I'll post photos later.
Photos:
Completely bodged where the steel cap meets the rubber of the heel and an inexplicable opaque brown sealant all around the back and on the sides of the sole. Am I being overly fussy?!

Angry? Why angry? It's just a common knowledge, that people will judge you for your actions. That's what I'm talking about.
If you can carry well the "snob" or "douche" label well, then go for it.Just don't tell me, that something is better, because it's more expensive. It's not true.

Sorry, I didn't know you were talking about yourself. I thought you were generalising.

When you mentioned my name I assumed you were talking about me? Incorrect assumption?
I would never base liking something purely because it costs an extortionate amount of money but high priced things can have desirable properties for some people. If that doesn't tickle your pickle then fine but complaining that things are over priced wank and everyone who wears them are wankers is a bit silly really.

let me help....
I couldn't even copy the image because it was making feel a bit ill. Please pull the other leg, you know....the one that has bells on. What an horrendous shoe.
Apparently the Sargasso Sea is in part, or maybe in the main even, said to be a particular shade of green. This may be due to the seaweed and the rich kelp, however the point is that shoes, should not resemble seaweed nor vomit. Neither colour is "right" for a traditional shoe. Its perverse, and by definition, not very 531. John Lobb is 531 as is Alfred Sargent.
That green shoe is clearly Tange plain guage.

Hmmm... Classic workwear, so strongly disagree... They've always been popular with denim nazis like me...
i think he wants a boot that doesnt neccesarily look like a boot if that makes sense. i could be wrong of course.
