i have love for these. when the creamy white sole gets discoloured they will look just as nice.
I really like those too, those Vibram soled brogue Tricker boots are also beyawesome... Bit more casual, like...

Snap them up then... that sale's been going all of about an hour and will sell out very soon.

^ If they were black and boots they'd be on their way to me now...

Just got my shoes back from being reheeled and they have made a total fucking pig's ear of them! Absolute shite. They've used a brown sealant paint all around the (previously very dark brown, almost black 'natural' finish) sole unit, which looks terrible, and there are fuck off gashes on the backs where the blakeys meet the rubber. Apparently it's not possible for the two parts to meet flush. As if. Pathetic cunts.
I'd have had them sort them out if I thought they had the wherewithal to fix the problem. Instead, I'll take them somewhere proper and hope they'll do a better job. Does anyone know of DECENT, REPUTABLE cobbler in the Clerkenwell area?
I'll post photos later.

I used to use a little place in in Elystan Street, Chelsea to do my boots, they were fabulous, always a top-notch job... So, I recommended them to Mrs Slain who needed to get her very expensive boots resoled... They seemed fine 'til one day the leather came away from the edge of the sole, the fuckwits had cut through the sole and not left enough leather to restitch the sole so they just put shit-loads of glue in to hold them in, we didn't find out for a few months because she didn't wear them very often so we had very little come back... Cost a fortune to get fixed properly, I got it in the neck from Mrs Slain for months after that incident...
Anyway, avoid that place... ^ -

Sorry, I don't get it!

somebody else , somewhere else said
I can recommend the Mayfair Cobblers (020 7491 3426), used by Manolo Blahnik himself! They fixed the zip on my Alexander McQueen boots and cleaned up the most scuffed pair of Martin Margiela boots known to man. Christian Louboutin will repaint their trademark red soles in-house (or the blue ones for wedding shoes) but they send their repairs to KG, 253 Eversholt Street, London NW1 (020 7387 2234).

KG is awesome, they repaired the mess up on Mrs Slain's boots... The old Greek fella there (retired now) made all of Vivienne Westwood's boots... I tried to get him to make me a pair of bondage boots back in the 90s, he told me to fuck off... ;]

Any of you geeks use a sole tonic on leather soles? Been wondering if its worth trying to make last longer

Mentioning Barker Black is only namedropping from my side, seeing as there's no way I can afford them. But one day maybe...
Bang on point, these

Hipster shoes. Too pointy and daft laces.
-
• #567
Couldn’t give a shit if they’re ‘hipster’ or not, they’re nice. I like that they look as if they’re a continuous flow of leather, no segments or interruptions.
-
• #568
See, thats what I don't like. I am a fan of segments and interruptions. Ah well.
-
• #569
continuous flow of leather is what you pay big bucks for at berluti.
that product; if it prevents the leather breathing, i think that most show makers would say its bad. just guessing you understand.

Yah, I can see why they'd be expensive to make, but I just don't like the way they look. Like a big wet sea lion on your foot.
I think I understand the soles business. Better to let them get wet, and dry naturally with shoe trees in.

wet sea lion or
i have a pair like this i would hate to get them wet.
ps mine are not made or designed by tom ford

as for cobblers... We always use (well, my lady does) the master cobbler on Upper St. Looks terrible but they've fixed loads of shoes for us, including whole new heels and staining down the new heel to match the other existing one. Really nice blokes too. They also put a bettery in my TAG watch for a fiver instead of the 40 or 50 the TAG dealer wanted. Probably won't go down 200m now, but luckilly neither do I.

I would value some advice gents. I am in the market for a pair of brown boots. Casual, with Dainite type soul. I'm going for classic rather than fashionable. I have narrow feet and Loake was recommended to me as they have some F fitting boots a la the Shilton:
Thoughts?
My local mod shop sells Loake but only have their brogue boots. I like them, and they are from the superior 1880 range, but they're a bit fashionable for me.
Any other suggestions before I shell out?
