  • Dodged a bullet there I reckon.

  • Anyone wear Red Wing iron rangers?
Considering a pair but wondered about breaking in / early comfort?

  • ha. destruction

  • Funnily enough I bought a pair (in black) today. The newer ones with the mini lugged sole, which also have a softer leather. More comfortable from new than Beckmans and moc toes so far (short walk with the dog). Will let you how I get on with them.

  • What size are you?
Can you wait a couple weeks?

Elsewhere in Abruzzo was an awesome pair very similar but in black I believe. And we may be trying to get in contact with a warehouse of new-old-stock where there may be something similar.

If it's that particular leather you want, I can also try to go through the different contacts from LineaPelle to see about a sample hide if you have a preferred shoemaker in the UK. I didn't grab all the patterned leather samples so it may take some time to find the correct supplier.

  • Busto Arsizio is in the middle of nowhere, twenty mins from milan, ten mins from Malpensa airport... the textile museum had a small area dedicated to a now-defunct shoe manufacturer. By chance we walked past the old factory which is now a graffiti kid's paradise (no lock on the gate, open plain walls). Took a bunch of photos but here's a few. Plaque was rescued and put in the museum along with old design documents and examples.

  • i have the harvester boots. really comfy from the outset and have just got better.

barely any breaking in period, just seemed to fit my feet

  • Why is it Trickers price their Burford Derby boot at £425 on their website but H&M spin off "Arket" are knocking them out for £395 on Regent Street?

  • The opposite of mark mcnairy selling sanders shoes with hipster tax

  • Price break on order quantity?

Retail price includes a hefty mark up and unless there's a contract stipulating it, retailers can sell below the RRP if they want. My GF got a pair of new Trickers Stow from here for £165. And if anybody is size 12 and looking for a pair of new Tricker's Stow Espresso boots in grain leather. Here is a bargain pair. Or navy if you're 9 or 10.5.

  • My amber harness ones took a week or so to break in. The muleskinners took no time at all.

  • Cheers all, snagged a pair from eBay for £120.
Amber harness, used but not really by the description and pics.

  • Sorted a pair of Bass Weejuns in black from a charity shop for a fiver. Half size too small so should fit gf's bro fine.

  • I need to stretch out some space in the toe area of my Redwing boots (deformed toes), can anyone recommend a shoe stretcher that will work well? All the ones I'm seeing seem to be designed for low shoes.

Also visiting Northampton next month, any factory shops I should try and get to other than Church's?

  • Are these Oliver Sweeney shoes saveable?
Especially worn on the ridge bit between the front and side
