my girlfriend wants a good pair of handmade lace ups for her new job. who does a good range of women's shoes? Crockett and Jones is woefully bad, Church's only do one pair of lace ups that aren't hideous and they're not quite right, Loake basically don't do womens shoes, and I'm not sure if Grenson are shit.
Who is there that's good for women?
Meermin

So on two pairs of my shoes, one of the metal ringlets in the lace holes is cutting into my laces, so after a while the laces just snap. Tried in vain to get a file in there, but to no avail. Any suggestions? Anyone else had this problem?

Cobblers should be able to take it out and punch a new one in, I'd have thought - have you taken them in anywhere?

That style of shoes always reminds me if the film Blue Collar in that it's what I imagine a Detroit factory worker to be wearing in the 70s.

No - was wondering if anyone knew of a home DIY fix. Couln't find any on google. There the type where it's under the leather though i.e. not visible from the top.

I have these which are a little more subtle and a fair bit cheaper.
Merrell Wilderness Canyon. Be sure to get the Canyon - the Classic model is an actual hiking boot. This is just a winter/walking in the park/DM-alternative boot.

Wait! If you are an 8.5, but in Loake you take a 7.5, then they come up bigger shirley? Only ask because this phrase is used quite a lot on here.
Russell & Bromley does some nice women's lace ups..
