Most collaborations are wacky and naff (see the Tricker's boots in Present), but these Aldens are subtle variations using existing styles and materials, with no garish colours. They aren't reinventing anything, it's a custom order.
Also, the casual longwing style and waxy leather works really well with a crepe sole. If it were thick, off-white crepe sole then I'd agree with you but as it is, in a dark colour with a leather midsole, it looks ace (in my opinion).
FWIW, I like the idea of jazz but never get on with actually listening to it.
Real men listen to jazz.

On a resoling vibe, what are the chances of me getting my Opening Ceremony resoled, waste of time?
How has the upper fared? My saddle shoes have the same sole but I'm yet to get it resold. Let me know how you get on.
edit* Mine appear to be sewn on.

For me I'd say that Clark's DBs are bang-on true to size. My feet are between a (UK) 9.5 and a 10 and I wear 10s. The 9.5 DBs were a tad small and my 10s are a tad big. Wallabees come up half a size too big (again, in my experience).
The suede are tighter and stiffer than the leather offerings IME.

Anyone know a cobbler that can replace the heel on a pair of red brick soles:
Just spoken to 5th avenue shoe repair and they only have brown material in stock, and says it's really hard to find red material.
Just spoke to Sanders, they can supply material for £20 + vat and postage.

I'll make sure to try a few before buying. My feet are quite narrow also.

No. Paired with your 'trousers' you'd get access to all sorts: Park where you want, free bus rides, no security guard sweating for eating sweets at confectionaries...What's not to like?
