  • Is that a traditional UAE punishment?

  • Indeed, b&d's outlook is becoming more medieval as he assimilates..

  • This is the land of the very lazy.

  • Nice Eames DSR there.

  • Who buys single Eames chairs?

  • Or even repro Eames chairs?

  • nothin to see here

  • Not even a repro Eames chair?!

  • nowt wrong with a bit of repro furniture.

    back to shoes please...

  • What the fuck are you lot on about?

  • The moody chair with the Missoni-esque cushion in the background of your photo.

  • Who buys single Eames chairs?

Who needs more than one rocking chair?

Not even a repro Eames chair?!

How ze fuck would you know? And why are we having this conversation?

    I didn't start it.

  • Fair enough. It's an RAR, not a DSR. Vitra.

Cushion I wove myself. I didn't know about Missoni beforehand but a few people have commented on the likeness:

    That is a cool story.

  • no just a pic i found on the web of a pair of cordovan shoes ,,,,,to keep the thread on track

  • Can't rep the weaving, but that's proper good

  • Thanks a lot! I wanted it to have more of a gradient but it came out well. The thickness of the 'stripes' depends on the thickness of the yarn. The colours were inspired by a trip to north Cornish coast :-)

When my GF moves in I'm making my spare room into a studio and buying a loom...

  • in all of that screaming the arkana or saarinen side table didnt even get a mention :-(

There's a 'cool story' behind that too...

  • I inherited my moms loom (unless my sister grabs it). Proper big one for rugs etc. Would love to be able to use it but won't happen as long as we live in London

  • Boots got a new rubber sole, been cleaned and sno-sealed for the winter.

Chucked them in the oven for 5 minutes on 75°C to warm the leather up, worked wonders to get the wax to melt in to the leather. Then a bit of hairdryer to get the wax in the welts in properly.
