I managed a whopping 9km this morning. This afternoon will be more epic.

I've spent the morning watching the (heavy) rain out of my parents' window.
I think it's due to clear (well, become less heavy) at 1ish so hoping to go out after lunch, but that's not going to leave much daylight.
Christmas Day, Boxing Day and the 30th and 31st are out for me so I don't think I'll manage the 500. Maybe I should just ride when I want to ride..?
Radical concept, I know ;)

Audacious start this morning on the way to work (with a planned ride after work)......my front tyre blew out 100 yards down the road from my house.
I got very wet walking back to the house so it would have looked good in black and white though.

What do you mean it's not raining yet? It was pissing down this morning you lazy sleeper-innerer you!
Wasn't raining at 4am when I got up for a pee then promptly went back to bed. Then it also wasn't raining at 8 or 9 or whatever time it was I eventually got up. Therefore, Watson, with my flawless logical skillz, I deduce that it hadn't rained at all between those times. I personally guarantee that you will find not a single hole in this argument.

Fcuk it was wet out there this morning. Managed a measly 45k before cold/ wet/ hangover kicked in.

Managed 61miles.
Fuck me it was windy. Got blown across the road a few times, when there were gaps in hedges. Real fuck shit moments. -

Failed to commute may fire up the turbo for an hour if I can squeeze it in.

Tubro don't count. Outside only.

It is dry here, I have bibs and bike and track pump and everything else required to sort things out. Forgot to pack my motivation, though. Might ride to the beach and watch the waves for a bit, and then back. 4 miles, woo!

I ran out of daylight and food (should've had lunch before setting off) after 25 miles. Pathetic. Secretly kind of glad to be getting the train though, the A10 really is horrible and all the drivers seem to have a homicidal air to them.

I am back in Winchester, reunited with my bibs, and now in the days ahead I must make up for todays failure.
If anyone is in the area this is what I intend on doing tomorrow:

Just did 20 miles on a local off-road route on my track bike in the pouring rain, mud a few inches deep for about half of it. I'm not sure which was least impressed by the time I got home: my bearings or my girlfriend. I've never been muddier.
:)

85 solo (not one other cyclist) miles. Wet'n'windy
With some reasonably epic suffering. Now lying in bed - gonna get my glad rags on for the boozer

About 17 miles this afternoon. Not massive but considering I blew a tyre up on the way to work this morning I'm happy.

65km (40 miles) for me today. Fairly perfect conditions. 2 and a half hour ride, 2 hour nap. I need to sort out this day time sleepiness.

Ah, a local. I was on Marriott's Way: there's some serious flooding out that way.
pissing with rain and massively hungover....rule 5 and rule 9....I may sack this off though
