1) Yorgo and Goldenwheel selected for ROE team.
2) Some objections to 1 were raised.
3) Chan and Josh squabbled then made up.
4) Chucklebruv/Paul told lots of people to Fuck off.
5) Gabes posted a funny picture.
5) Paul turns out to be not so full of Chuckles
(Amusing intermission featuring a Fuck vs Racist debate)
6) Manchester love-in.
7) Captain Chan forever alone.

bloody hell paul stop this. You didnt raise any objections to yorgo (who as previously said started polo in London) or alex (who played in tourneys representing manchester before you had picked up a mallet) playing. Nor did you raise an objection to chan skippering the team and while in hindsight the selection of captain/manager could have been done more democratically, noone at the time seemed to have an issue and chan was happy to do what in reality is a thankless task -ie leave people out.
You need to be realistic, while a Bench Minor style tourney means that the whole 'inclusive' polo thing goes by the wayside to make way for a much more 'sporty' and meritocratic attitude (which im not sure i like), to enter yourself into a draft is to accept this and to ask someone to rate you against others. Dont be upset if their rating doesnt tally with yours. From my way of looking at it there were around 6 shoe ins on that list and the rest of us were much of a muchness and i was totally read to be left off the list in favour of a fair few. Chan thought differently and still had to make a decision. Deal with it
if you really want to play in a tourney abroad, form a team and go play in Rouen if theres still registration open

5) Paul turns out to be not so full of Chucklesi laughed

^punkture summed it up.
Anyway, back on track: how is team England/EDL/Paris/Greece getting to the Vaterland?
Flights are looking expensive (£200+ if you don't want Stansted and evening flights), train is looking time-consuming (12+ hours if you're from Birmingham, even more if you're from Manchester).
There's 5 Manchester players and me - does anyone fancy a roadtrip? I can drive, although I can't offer my car (missus/inlaws have dibs) and need at least one other driver share the burden. 28 years old, no claims, only 3 points (overtaking a fucking bus = excusable).
Anyone?

I like this Tom. I would like it if you would write the preface / table of contents for my biography in just such a manner.

That was quite something... I apologise for the *fucking *language Chan
You *snuck **past me, cutting me out of any sort of captain vote which has left me feeling betrayed, no less by someone i play polo with regularly. This is why i was so angry with you yesterday and will continue to be so until you apologise.
I was truly psyched to be a part of a big team which might overcome the obstacles of players getting tired or injured, bikes and mallets breaking, disputes between players, etc Even more so, i would be on the front of this, making decisions on behalf of the team, most of all what i really was looking forward to was being part of a polo team that is a Posse
Yeah i was never going to be the strongest member on the team but does that fucking matter when theres so much more to consider?
I'll leave that with you
I agree with some of the concerns voiced all around and feel that this has been handled badly.
*****you have my phone number, i dont live in the Hebrides

Sorry to keep banging on, but this is what I'm probably going to do. I'll book tomorrow unless someone else mentions or suggests an alternative.
Lufthansa, Birmingham to Frankfurt, depart Friday 4th, 0945, arrive 1220, then get a train (approx 1hr/50 Euros return)
Depart Frankfurt Monday 7th, 1300, arrive Birmingham 1330.
Flights are £89, train is 50 Euros (ish), and I think bikes can be taken as your luggage if the box weighs less than 20kg (should be do-able). If it turns out I'm wrong, it could be up to 70 Euros extra *each flight, *but all the alternatives are so expensive, inconvenient or time-consuming that I'll just suck it up.
If anyone wants to join me, I can put players up at my place the night before departure.

Results of a quick search of van-hire costs:
1) Van Hire for something big enough for up to 8 people and bikes £750
2) Diesel £250?
3) Ferry £50= £130 to £210 each...
positives: road-trip fun, foster team unity, don't have to box bikes, (probably) quicker than train, possibly cheaper than flying,
negatives: 12 hour journey means another day's holiday if we want to get to Karlsruhe by 2pm on the Friday or driving through the night, someone has to pay/take responsibility for the van, 1 or 2 people have to drive, double journey time of plane and not much cheaper
- I only looked at one van quote, so that could be a fair bit out either way, and I'm just guessing about diesel/petrol prices. I can't see the totals being a lot less, though... Roadtrip looks totally impractical, but maybe watching too many American movies makes me want to do it that way, regardless.
It'd be nice to sort something in the next few days, so I may just end up flying.

Heh, Chan... do some quick googles. Estates tend to be cheaper than the van approach, you may need two vehicles though, big seater vehicles were too expensive for our Lille trip last year.
oh crap.
