For me it's absurde to give the choice of 10 players on the entire France to 1 guy. This gonna be a too good tourney to let only one dude choose on one country 10 men.

About the chimestry argument:
Most of the time, when 3 good players plays first time together in pick up, they play well. No need to put the all responsability on one guy for choosing the good 10.
Captain should be manage the team that players want. This team gonna be made with the best players, you can be sure. It give the captain a good number of potential tactics, line etc...
Put the whole thing on one guy is not the way, nobody is spiderman for real. And it give to this sport a taste of soccer pro who sucks.

i think Clement's idea would be great as guidance for the captain, he/she might not necessarily know skills of all the players in their bracket .

Maybe captain could still overwrite it if they want to, but it sounds like a good plan that the team compile themselves as super team

Start a thread..and spread the word amongst ur boys, Cambridge, Sheffield and all the other scenes. I think a draft is a list who the manger/coach picks his team from (from what I undesrand)

Yes, it could but it's pretty unlikely.

Why's that? If you want a team that chooses non-London players over more seasoned players (which I think is what you're worried about. But to be honest, I wouldn't worry that much. The UK-minus-London has got a lot of good players), then elect a coach who knows this is an issue and will give priority to non-London players.
